We stayed at the Whistling Swan hotel for 2 nights whilst visiting family in the area. Ros and her husband made us very welcome and made the best breakfasts. Each day was different. The homemade pineapple muffins deserve a special mention - delicious!

If I'm not mistaken, we drove to Mohawk Lake to do some kayaking and this is by NO MEANS a walking distance from Stanhope. I believe the drive took some 25 minutes. An excellent restaurant in Stanhope (and a 5-10 minute walk from the Inn) is the Bells Mansion at 11 Main St. A classy restaurant with a lot of local character, a lovely veranda and beautiful surroundings. Enjoy your stay there...
