Just finished our third stay at the Beach Colony and I thought they deserved a favorable honest review. If you have pets, need a short stay, don't mind the typical high pricing for any hotel during the summer season down at the shore, adequate facilities that is clean ( overpowering at times, yes, but I like the smell of clean ) , inside and out, then this is the place for you. As they say, cash is king. So if you pay cash, there's a 5% difference in rate. If you pay with credit card, expect that 5% extra. If you are bringing pets, the extra fee per night is $34.10 per pet. This is fee is only payable in cash. As other reviews have mentioned, if you're not a fan of pets, this is probability not the place for you. Yes, there is some barking as doggies cross pathes, but during our three stays here, never was a problem or an annoyance. Leslie, the general manager / host is pleasant to work with. If travelling with pets, they encourage you to call to reserve your room. They also have their own website to book rooms. Probably best to book directly with them as I have seen reviews where bookings were lost or not honored perhaps thru using third party sites, but not sure on that one. However, if they have a room, Leslie will get you setup. Yes, some rooms do not have the best views as this is your typical doo wop area L shaped motel, that's 2 floors, and no elevator. As a matter of fact, the steps can be a little tricky to navigate. At least 2 rooms, one on each floor is tucked into the L of the motel, so yes these rooms face a blank concrete wall near the ice bin and laundry / housekeeping areas. Parking is tight. They have one space for each room, but spots are narrow. So if you have a big rig, I had a RAM 1500 there, parking can be snug. Is it a resort? No, but they don't charge you a resort fee like others for use of the facilities. They have a pool with a slide, some outside seating area, ice machine and a couple of grills, that's their resort. Every room we have stayed in was clean with average furnishings and most if not all include a coffee maker, mini fridge and microwave. Check their website for room configurations, some have a small kitchenette too. Again, not a resort, no coffee or coffee filters are included, you'll have to bring your own. If your looking for a place where you can bring fido, have nice hospitality and clean rooms, this is the place to stay for a short trip. Excellent for the pet lovers, probably considered average for the average Joe.…
