Friends and I spent 2 nights at Maison Chablis. James is the wonderful proprietor who will greet you with his winning smile and a genuinely warm welcome. The rooms are luxurious but not pretentious and the breakfast room, and its food, will put you in a happy mood for the rest of the day. All the staff are friendly and...

Easily the best of all the B&Bs of our SA trip. Good location in the middle of town, so it is possible and safe to walk to restaurants. Well appointed rooms with coffee/tea making facilities, water, bathroom amenities. Breakfast is delicious - watch out for those muffins - as the owner's philosophy is to put on the buffet the things...

Thank you for a lovely review. The fresh chocolate muffins are more "death by chocolate" cakes...I have never personally had a nicer piece of muffin/cake in my life :) I hope you had a super balance of your stay in South Africa. warm regards , James

The experience is so different from many other guesthouses where it is just a job for the host to check in guests....James is hands-on, friendly, and makes you feel welcome right from the start. He made suggestions of restaurants, and has a good selection of movies on DVD. The room is clean and neat, and the bed comfortable. The breakfast...

Thank you for a lovely review. I appreciate your comments. Truthfully we get a lot of really great guests. Everyone arrives in a good mood so it makes my job really pleasurable. The DVD library is proving to be well received and I am always on the hunt for new titles. I hope to see you again. James

Did not have a reservation, but the manager James was so great on the phone and even better in person - provided loads of recommendations and answered all our questions with real interest. We booked direct with the hotel so was able to even save a little rather than via an online website. The rooms are nicely decorated, large and...

As a tour guide we get to see many such establishments. What sets this one apart is it is owner managed. Very hands on. Clean as a whistle, comfy, spacious and best of all central to the village. Stroll to the supermarket and restaurants or just for the sights and the scenery. Feels like a vacation spot not just another...

We arrived early and were met by Innocentia who said our room was ready. She was friendly and most welcoming. Our room was upstairs with an enormous bed - we had been upgraded! It was tastefully decorated and the bathroom was spacious. We later met James, the owner, who booked our evening meals and advised us on places to go....

Hi, Thank you for your stay with us and importantly for also taking the time to submit a review. One thing I have learnt from this industry , is that when you need to escape to do grocery shopping, almost guaranteed that my guests will arrive. However, Innocentia is well trained to recieve and introduce the rooms to my guests...

This is a very nice guesthouse in a great location, a few minutes walk to downtown Franschhoek. James, the owner, was great - we had pre-arranged to drop off luggage around 9:30 am so we could catch the 10 am wine train and when we arrived he had our room all ready to check in. He also asked us about...

Well run guesthouse with "hands on" owner who recommended a few restaurants, booked a restaurant for us - getting us the "best table". We booked in early - the room was large and beautifully decorated.

This is a nice guesthouse but some of the decor bit chintzy for me. Rooms are comfortable but not the biggest. Outside seating areas for downstairs rooms are good. The owner made our stay here. Nothing was too much trouble from booking restaurants to Wine tasting. He really cared about his guests. Breakfast was good. Nice place to stay in...
