I and my wife had the good opportunity to stay at this excellent hotel during our time in Seminyak in August 2019. It is a very well maintained place with soothing aesthetics which exudes a sense of hygge in the entire hotel premises. The swimming pool is very clean and it's a delight to enjoy the surroundings. The 2 pet dogs are very friendly to play with and add to the joy of staying here. The staff is very helpful and courteous. Emma, the manager, leaves no stone unturned to ensure your comfort and is very polite and pleasant to talk to. The owner is a very respectable gentleman who regales you with meaningful conversations. The hotel is located in a very quiet village away from the main market street in Seminyak, so a scooter is recommended. Overall, it was an excellent experience to stay here and would love to come back someday! Nikunj Gandhi…
Kumar Kama is NOT a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination , more like a 3 star property, but it is great value for the price. There are only 10 rooms surrounding the pool and it is quiet. It isn’t close to the main shopping areas of Seminyak but taxis are very cheap so it really isn’t a problem. The room was clean and a very good size. The little Courtyard in the back is cool in the mornIngs and a good place to relax. Staff are good and Emma in Reception was very friendly and happy to assist in any way possible. The pool was clean and a good temperature. In summary, Kama Kumar is a small boutique hotel with clean, good sized rooms and a nice pool at a very good price. The only drawback is that there is no air conditioner in the lounge area of the room and the air conditioner in the bedroom could be updated. The downstairs rooms have an outside seating area under cover where you get some shade and a breeze. The only meal served is breakfast. The Good Mantra Cafe is nearby as part of Kosta Hostel and was much better as was Rev Bistrot has excellent food and is only a short walk.…
The positive: we found the hotel clean and the beds comfortable. Now our other thoughts: we were required to choose breakfast the night before as well as the time we would come to the dining room. We found this odd and restrictive. No free refills on morning coffee Only A/C in bedroom, so we found the living room and bathroom uncomfortably hot. Also, bathroom had no fan, just a screened opening. Fresh towels would be brought in as late as 9pm, rather than replaced when housekeeping was there during the day. We had an early morning checkout - the front office gentleman was asleep on the couch. Location - not close to shops or restaurants. Only one cafe in close vicinity. Seminyak Square about a 30 - 40 minute walk. Hotel staff pushed BlueBird taxi because online transportation apps like gojek or grab are not allowed in this neighborhood. The taxis are so much more expensive.…
Extremely happy with my choice to stay at Kamar Kamar whilst being in Seminyak. It is a quiet area, only 10 rooms with a big living room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The rooms are clean and well maintained, the wifi is good, the pool is clean (you have sun between 10:00 and 14:30 or so) and the staff is super friendly. So happy I have chosen to stay here! Renting a motor bike costs 75k per day (the state is reasonable) and all with all an excellent place to stay. The only feedback I have is: please uncage the birds in the lobby, it is 2019 :(, and also please install a water dispenser to refill your water bottle so that we can save on the plastic pollution in Bali :) thank you and see you next time
Kamar Kamar was our first stop in Bali and we loved every minute of it. The staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly (even when we arrived in the early hours due to flight delays) and the atmosphere is lovely - very simple but quite classy. The location is walkable to Seminyak but may be a bit far for some - 25 mins or so, which we didn’t mind. As it’s set back from the main street it’s a bit darker, but we didn’t feel unsafe beyond the usual somewhat crazy roads. The rooms are great - very spacious, huge comfy bed and we had a lovely day bed on our terrace too. The pool area is very nice too. Breakfast was delicious - great choice every morning of Indonesian, American or continental - we chose Indonesian each morning and the Nasi Goreng was the best we had on our entire trip!…
