We usually stay at another hotel in Korat, but when we checked in to that hotel, we did not like the room as it smelled like mildew. This was at 9pm and we wanted to find another hotel...fast. So we called the Kantary and they had a room for us. So we traveled over just a mile or so. We ended up getting the Kantary room for $26 cheaper and what a deal as I said above in my first paragraph.
We stayed at the Kantary for almost two weeks and got to know everyone there. All the employees from the waitresses to housekeepers were all smiles and very helpful with anything we needed. They had a great buffet breakfast that was included in our hotel price. The food was always excellent with fresh fruit and cook to order. They also have a bakery. We were told they hired their own bakery chef and his/her pride and expertise showed in the pastries and cakes. They also have a Chinese restaurant and a grill. We ate mostly at the main restaurant and the food was excellent. Their Filet Mignon was excellent and very reasonable priced around $12. The menu was expansive from Western to Thai choices. Everything I ate there during my stay I had not one complaint.
The hotel also had a great gym, spa, and pool on the top floor. Also on the top floor the hotel had an "Executive Room" where you could go and have coffee and a pastry and read a book or read the local or international newspapers they provided, all in a quiet setting. The room was very well done and Executive Room was the appropriate name for it.
I was very impressed overall with this hotel and wish more hotels in the United States would use this hotel as an example of what a hotel should be. We visit Korat quite often and we will always stay in this hotel from now on when we visit. There is no other hotel in this city, in my opinion, that can live up to the standards of the Kantary. Great kudos to the staff and management at the Kantary!
I stayed here 2 nights with my korean family ( 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom )
We had a wedding ceremony on the 20th floor ( the grill room restaurant)
For the room was so great ,big ,clean and good price and breakfast with a lot of choices
The hotel location is very convenient to go everywhere and easy to come. You can ask reception if you need a van for traveling, they will help to find and inform a price to you.
I've tried Chinese restaurant on the 2nd floor there are private rooms for a group and several choices of menu.
For my wedding ceremony
We made it in the grill room restaurant on the 20th floor ,they have a garden zone in the restaurant and we can see the high view. It's suitable for a small wedding maximum 50-60 ppl. You can select a buffet menu for guests and it’s good enough with lots of choices for food ,dessert and drinks ( but for my wedding it’s too much and couldn't eat all)
I was in abroad but i made my wedding by chatting with staff (K.Jannie). She recommended about food, place arrangement and everything to make a perfect wedding. They accepted credit card payments and everything was perfect as I wanted. I had nothing to do and worry about the place before getting married.
I informed them i will stay for 3 nights but my plan was changed, and they allowed to cancel 1 night.
The hotel is fairly new and spotlessly clean. The rooms are a good size and well fitted out. The breakfast selection is quite excellent, with a good selection of Thai, Japanese and Western foods, and Dinner is similarly excellent with a good range of different cuisine.
The Executive Lounge, a personal draw for all Kantary hotels, was clean, quiet, spacious and kept well stocked.
The high point of this hotel however must be the staff. These were uniformly friendly, helpful and cheery - perhaps being the only farang couple staying there helped? It would be wrong to single out any member of staff, but the restaurant staff went out of their way to be helpful and made our stay a particularly pleasant one.
I would not hesitate to recommend this Kantary.
The breakfast buffet was probably the best we've ever experienced in provincial Thailand
We were there for just an overnight stop, and the location was great for that -- just a short distance from the ring road. And secure, shaded underground parking.
If in Korat again, we'd definitely stay here, and we shall look out for hotels run by this group as we travel around Thailand
Finally I can only recommend this Hotel Kantary for those who should be passing through Korat.
P.S.: A heartfelt thanks to all the staff for the courtesy and kindness shows towards us.
The hotel is new and the rooms are probably the best I have known, and I've stayed in many hotels. The pool is fantastic on the roof top. The service was first class. We had a car and parking under the hotel was no problem at all. We went to the Christmas day dinner that the hotel put on which was superb. The staff made Christmas dinner a pleasure and the food was fantastic. This hotel could not be praised more by me if I tried. This hotel is highly, highly recommended to western travellers in Korat
