From the moment we left the main road and headed 5 miles on a dirt road to get to this place, we new it would be unique! The hosts, Michael and Becky, are wonderful and knowledgable about the area. The 265 acre property is great for hikers, birders, astronomy buffs (no ambient light at night). Sadly, we could only stay... More

Save your time, your money, and your patients. We were so looking forward to our night at Casita de Gila and are still recovering from the nasty feeling that lingers after our experience there. I only wish that my friend had read the review from the man with the "service dogs" before we had booked. Even then, if we had... More

We regret that your experience at Casitas de Gila was not a positive one. We wish we had known when you reserved your casita that you would be traveling in a very large RV. With two dogs. The Rates and Policies page of our web site clearly explains that we are not able to accommodate pets at Casitas de Gila.... More

We spent three peaceful days here: hiking the trails on the over-200 acres of property, watching stars at night, looking for birds (we were a little early for the migration). No TV, no cell service. Our one-bedroom casita was very well equipped: great kitchen equipment, breakfast supplies, olive oil, and condiments for cooking. This is rugged country so bring your... More

It was cloudy, no dazzling star display ~ and we'd missed the fall bird migration so just the usual winter birds ~ AND we enjoyed every moment of our stay anyway because of the perfection of this place. Michael and Becky, the owners, are delightful and welcomed us warmly. There were four of us staying in the 2-bedroom Sun/Moon Casita... More

My family and I recently had the privilege to stay at Casitas de Gila while exploring southern New Mexico. The Casitas are stunning and the property is breathtaking. My children 9 and 11 enjoyed the property and peace just as much as my husband and I did. Our only regret is that we weren't able to stay a few more... More

I have stayed in many places but I have to say this is really one of the very, very best. I can't say enough about the wonderful and helpful owners, the beautiful setting and the lovely casita. When I initially called I told the owner I was interested in birds and she put us in the bird themed casita. Everything... More

We spent one night but this could be a place to spend several days. Trails, vistas, hot tub, BBQ, kitchen, living room and bedroom. Owners are talented artists and have their studio on the compound and a store with various artists works.

My husband and I visited the Casitas in June 2016. We traveled 1400 miles and it was worth every mile. Exceeded all of our expectations!!! It wasn't our second honeymoon, but it turned out to be that, and so much more. Quiet, breathtakingly gorgeous, our perfect getaway!! We hope to return again soon.

Had a lovely two night stay at Casitas. A great jumping off location for souther New Mexico attractions and a great get-away locations. Highlights were the homemade breakfast bread and the hiking trails. The casita was super clean and well stocked, perfect for a quiet night in.

This was our second time staying at casita de Gila. The first time we vowed to return and this time stayed for 5 nights. Micheal and Becky have thought of everything.
