Nestling in the shade of indigenous trees, this visual oasis of inspirational elements combines to culminate in this magnificent Tented Safari Camp. Intimate and comfortable, yet simplistic combined with excellent service, the Camp creates a traditional African Safari feel to your journey, and you can be forgiven for thinking you were transported back in time to an unspoilt and unexplored Africa. Sharing its borders with the world renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve which forms part of the Greater Kruger region due to having unfenced borders with the Kruger Park, Tydon Safari Camp offers guests a unique opportunity of staying in permanent semi luxury tented rooms and experiencing wildlife game drives and bush walks in the Sabi Sand as well as the Kruger National Park.

We did a 3 day safari here to start off our honeymoon and we couldn’t have had a better time. The accommodation was clean with good facilities and being in tents really added to the safari experience. We did one game drive in sabi sands and 3 in Kruger and saw a fair amount

We booked a 4 night safari package and stayed at Tydon Safari Camps. The facilities were amazing for it being a tented camp: very clean and comfortable. The food was delicious and plenty. And the staff was very friendly, especially the guides Seonaid and Drikus who really shared

Thank you to all of the staff--each and every person was wonderful. I would book this safari again in a heartbeat. The entire vibe of the camp felt like the nostalgia of sleep-away summer camp as a kid with elephants, leopards, rhinos, lions, and buffalo thrown in. GAME DRIVES

There are two extension cords in each room with South African ports and European ports. We were able to charge phones, iPads, and camera batteries. There is no WiFi but Vodafone has a strong signal in the dining area. Grab. 5GB SIM card in the airport for under $30. We had five game and saw four sets of the Big 5. The reality is seeing lions and leopards are rare but they are around. We also saw hippos just ask the Ranger names Special to take you to the hippo pool if you want to see them. You should have an amazing time.

I didn't stay at the Bush Camp but since it is withing Sabi Sands Game reserve you are already there. At Tydon you can't enter until 6am, same with Kruger a half hour away. Animals can be seen very soon upon entry to Sabi Sands, but wildlife are fickle. When I was there, the Sand River was dry, that made the gave viewing better at the Sabi River in Kruger. No matter where you go, you will see lots of stuff. I recently had one of my Sabi Leopard shots featured in Outdoor Photographer Magazine.

Not at the bush camp

I was there in late october and I would have welcomed rain as they were in a bad drought. November is supposed to be the beginning of the rainy season, but I wouldn't worry about it.

Hi Lucy. 1. I booked through africanbudgetsarfari and had no problems whatsoever. I am sure you can book directly with Tydon if you wish. I didn't actually know ABS were an agent when I booked with them. 2. There were 2 camps: 1 smaller one inside Sabi Sands Reserve and 1 just outside the Reserve. The smaller camp accommodates 8 people and as per my understanding, you only go on Sabi drives. From the other camp, which accommodates far more people you can go to both Sabi and Kruger drives. The reason we split our visit was to be able to go to both Kruger and to Sabi Sands as they both have their ups and downs. Both camps have almost identical tents and accommodation including all dining facilities. 3. There were no children when we went at either of the camps. However I think this last question would be better directed at Tydon Safaris, as I'm a traveller like you so can't comment on their bookings at your time of travel etc or their policies.

"Just relax and enjoy a TRUE safari experience !"
"Tydon Bush Camp is the real Safari experience"
"Photography tip - a 200mm lens is the most you'll need in Sabi Sands but for Kruger a 400mm (or 2x extender) will prove invaluable."
"Avoid being downwind during the boma dinners or you'll get a bunch of smoke in your face!"
"All tents are well situated. We stayed in tent number 1 which was at the end and we enjoyed tyhe privacy."
