This is slightly different than most of the camps that we stay at in Africa. We have been to Africa a lot, mostly Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa, including the Country of South Africa. If you were planning you first trip to Africa and have never been before and a bit apprehensive about going. South Africa is your best choice... More

In April 2016 we visited Arathusa for the first time. We had a great time with breathtaking sightings so we decided to come back. So the expectations were very high and we just ended our second four nights stay in this lodge from November 14th till November 18th. And it was great again and all our expectations were met and... First and foremost, if you don't get Rein and DeBeer as your ranger/tracker combo, you should probably lay down and scream or hold your breath until you do... We had two game drives everyday, and each one was different than the one before. Rein is comedy, makes a lot of Top Gear jokes, and actually tells you about the animals'... More

This was different to the Safari camps we stayed in in Tanzania & Zambia as you stay in luxury villas rather than tents & it gives it a more hotel feel. It was also bigger, & on Safari we had to share with up to 8 people in the land rovers ( cruisers) instead of 2 in the other places.... More

I had the pleasure to stay at Arathusa Safari Lodge for 2 nights at the beginning of November 2016 and was really impressed. This was not my first safari experience as I lived in Kenya for a while and went several times to Tsavo and Masai Mara, however this was so different. Being in a private game reserve offers you... It is difficult to fault Arathusa on any level. You can fly in and land on the private airstrip. You probably will see the Big Five several times if you are here for any length of time. The waterhole where the Lodge is set, even when dry, is a stage for animal activity. The chef is superbly adept at creating... More

My husband and I did not know what to expect during our first safari experience but Arathusa is the real deal! Our room was the furthest away from the camp (about a 5-10 min walk from the main area) and we were told that we could not walk alone in the late night or morning due to animals that could... More

It was our first Safari game drive in Kruger and we spend two days to turn and turn and turn themselves in the Kruger park without seeing any interresting animals (just impalas again and again !)... And Shoen, our ranger drive us into the bush to see ... birds ! During two hours, he talk about birds, hear birds, cookie... More
