I am not normally compelled to write reviews but this experience has to be shared as it moved our family so much. We traveled with our 13 yr old son to Ivory lodge mid October and stayed for 4 nights. The accommodation was beautiful with a fabulous bedroom, lounge and patio including plunge pool, and a view over the river...

Exceptional property/over-the-top spectacular views from our room and loved our personal butler and also personal dining assistant "Sully". Our tracker and ranger were the "A+" team. Highly recommend!

We stayed at the lion sands ivory lodge for 4 nights of utter magic. The experience was unforgettable. Both the safari and the accommodations were beyond our expectation. The service and the entire staff could not have been more friendly or have pampered us more. Trip of a lifetime!

We booked this hotel months in advance to our trip. It was hard to find good looking, obviously nice and available lodges. However, 6 weeks prior arrival the hotel decided to cancel our booking due to "an event"! This is ridiculous if you see that a guest has no real alternatives 6 weeks prior arrival. Thanks, Lion Sands, you ruined...

We spent 2 weeks in Africa on 3 different safari experiences. Lion Sands Ivory Lodge was our favorite for the combination of great guide, excellent food ,service and stunning accommodations. First and foremost our guide for the 3 days was the incomparable Ferdie Muller. Ferdie is a true professional and so knowledgeable about flora and fauna. He has 22 yrs...

Terrible management. The people that work here are nice but the management stinks. No attention to detail. Find another place to stay. Unfortunately they are superficial because it is a beautiful place.

Dear JPTravelingJP, your comments are of the most serious in nature and ask if you can email me personally the details of your stay with us so I can work it through with the Management. My brother and I have with blood, sweat and tears built Lion Sands over the past 14 years and it is incredible personal for us...

Going to Africa is not a simple matter these days. Planning takes months with much research and consultations with travel agents. We had planned to spend 2 weeks in South Africa with my niece and sister in law, using Cape Town as the starting point. Our travel agent, Helen Kirby @ Rhino Africa, suggested we might enjoy a few days...

Our matriarch of 80 years had always wanted to go on Safari with her brood. Our group planned for over 2 years to give this gift to their "Gram". Our choice was Ivory Lodge, which had luxury accommodations for 12 and allowed us to have the entire property to ourselves. This was key for us, since we wanted to be...

I took my whole family (wife, 2 kids and mum and dad) to Ivory Lodge in July. We had an incredible time. The rooms were fantastic, with beautiful views of the river where elephants, buffalo and other animals regularly came to drink. The food was fantastic, and Aubrey our butler was a gem. They catered for our kids perfectly and...

In many years of travel, I have never taken the time to review a hotel before now. The Lion Sands Ivory Lodge was fantastic in every way, food, lodging, service and game drives. The staff genuinely want you to relax and enjoy your trip. The food is delicious and there are many opportunities to try it. Not only are the...
