Set in the Balule Nature Reserve, Sausage Tree Safari Camp promises rich game viewing and spectacular views, as our boundary with Kruger National Park is open and the Northern Drakensberg Mountains form a majestic back drop. This family operated safari camp pride itself on the warm atmosphere and African safari tented accommodation it offers. Enjoy lantern lit dinners in our boma or open deck under the star studded African sky. Sunrise and sunset safaris in open 4x4 vehicles are the highlights of the day.The Safari Camp:Our African safari-styled tents are nestled in between Marula, Knobthorn Acacia and Sausage Trees and overlook a dry river bed, the bush and the Northern Drakensberg Mountains. Each tent is spacious and built in an elevated position with it's own special view. The tents are fully furnished and have their own private deck and ensuite bathroom with a bath and outdoor shower. Inverter or Eco based Air-conditioners are fitted in each tent ensuring that you stay cool during those warm summer nights... and can even be set to warm during those colder nights in winter. Insect gauze on all the windows and doors keep the insects outside where they belong.

We had an incredible time at Sausage Tree. We loved the intimate feeling of only 5 tents with 10 people. The game drives were outstanding and Matthew has a passion for what he does and is able and willing to share that passion with you. The staff were very friendly and very

Sausage tree was the first highlight of our South Africa tour. And what a highlight it was. The location is amazing, with never ending views and very nice terraces to sit and chill. Sleeping in the tents was great, with all the comforts available. But what really made the stay

We recently completed our four night stay at Sausage Tree Safari Camp. To keep this simple, it was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Our greeting from Megan at the airport and drive to the camp were so simple and comforting after flying into Hoedspruit. Upon arrival,

Good day jtsang72, Thank you for your question and for you interest in our Unique and Private Safari Camp. The Game Drives are included in the rate and are done on Balule Nature Reserve which is open and part of the Greater Kruger National Reserve. (Its just on a different area in the Kruger)

is the camp malaria free or do take tablets
Don’t forget to pack your sunblock, insect repellent, flashlight, camera, binoculars and anti-malaria tablets. Although Sausage Tree is situated in a low-risk malaria area, anti-malaria prophylactics are recommended for visitors going in to the Kruger National Park. The highest risk period is between November and April which is the rainy season. A 24-hour malaria hotline is available on +27 (0)82 234 1800 to give a detailed explanation on risk and advice on precautionary measures. We advise that you consult a knowledgeable medical practitioner about recommended medication.

Are bush walks included in the room rate? Also, do the tents have Wi-Fi?
WiFi is available, with a charge of Rand 50 per night per tent. Also, walks are available for Rand 400 per person. We went on a walk ourselves. The walks are conducted by another organization, which supplies the guides (who come to Sausage Tree). We enjoyed the walks ourselves.
