We spent two nights at Tangala as part of a safari with On Track Safaris, and we were blown away by the place. It is a small camp with no electricity which gives you an authentic bush experience without sacrificing home comforts - hot showers,...More

While all reviews on Tangala are taken seriously, we do give extra weight to those of senior reviewers like yourself and we could not have asked for kinder words.
We are delighted that you got to see such wonderful wildlife and that you appreciated and...More
What a shame it was that with such excellent game viewing available in the Thorneybush Reserve, we left Tangala feeling as though we had received very poor value for money. We paid Rand 8,500 for a two night stay and at that price, we expected...More

All we can do is offer sincere apologies: it should be standard practice for staff to remind clients about how dark it can be in the mornings and remind you that your room keys have solar powered torches on them, in order to...More
So there isn't electricity... Big deal. If you want to do email, stay in the office. This is an awesome camp. I have been to the expensive resorts in the Kruger Park area, stayed and expensive camps in the Okavango Delta and in the Masai...More

It gives us such pleasure when our guests 'get' what Tangala is all about: authentic simplicity. Looking forward to having you and your family with us next time - and thanks for taking the time to write the review...spread the word!
My 2 night stay with friends at Tangala rates easily as one of the best safari experiences ever in South Africa. The authentic atmosphere reminded me of boyhood trips to Kruger Park and Tangala is a genuine camp that provides a 5 star game viewing...More

At Tangala Safari Camp we have solar power. We are able to charge any device. Cameras, iPads, phones. The solar runs our fridges and lights for the lodge as well.
Hope that helps you.
