My wife and I stayed at Tau for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed every minute we spent there. The lodge has fantastic staff, including our excellent safari guide and skilled spa therapist. They catered brilliantly for my wife's dietary needs without fuss and the location is just breathtaking, we enjoyed Elephants bathing in the watering hole next to the lodge...

Beautiful safari lodge. The food and drinks were fabulous. The rooms were very spacious and overlooked the watering hole. The rangers were very knowledgeable and we managed to find many animals. I would definitely visit again.

We have stayed at Tau four times now, and each visit has been of consistently high quality. The game viewing in Madikwe is great, and we have always had excellent game rangers. The food is good, the service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. Yes, it is a bigger lodge, and there are definitely more exclusive...

We visited Tau between 2-4 January 2017, as a family of 4 (kids aged 13 and 10). Wow wow wow!!! We have had an incredibly experience here, and our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer. The lodge is situated on a waterhole, and over our stay we saw (from our room) many zebras and wildebeest, a bull...

We stayed at Tau in November 2016 and absolutely loved it. The staff are all out of this world. Our guide was Dylan who is just incredible. Super knowledgable and responsible. Our game viewings were mind blowing. The manager Tumi is amazing. A real people's person and we loved talking to him. We got as puncture on our way to...

Wonderful staff, amazing massages (book as soon as you arrive) and thanks to Mark our game drive host at Tau Lodge we learnt more about animals in 4 days than you will ever learn in a book! Highly recommend it! Will hopefully go back soon...

South Africans seem to have a peculiar indifference to safaris because whenever they travel it seems that they simply exchange one city for another and call it a holiday. If a change is really as good as a holiday then a city swap is perfectly fine but the untouched beauty of the wild can hold her own against the bright...

This lodge is dated and needs a renovation. The floors are old slate . The units are small, furniture old and bland and the veranda outdoor furniture is uncomfortable. There is however, air-conditioning. The outdoor shower head leaked badly. Tau is not a small personalised lodge – it has 90 staff and a large dining room. The meals are mass...

A good lodge in a unique part of Madikwe, with a fantastic watering hole visible from each of the rooms that attracts a wide variety of game. The lodge was quiet while we were there so we had great personal service and attention.

Lovely lodge, rustic and homely, but still top quality service and amenities. Field guides/Rangers were great, we had Ernie and he was brilliant. Saw lots of game close up, Madikwe is not crowded and we saw some amazing sites (eg very young Lion, Jackal and Hyeana cubs, and African Wild Dogs!). We found transfers to be expensive so we rented...
