Totally blown away by this reserve and safari. Got to see all the Big Five plus lots of other animals, including a live kill. Jaci's Lodge is great with accommodations that are so close to nature but still safe even at night. Great for kids with a kid's program. Great service

This was our first safari—we waited until our daughter was 6 so she would remember the trip. We were super lucky and saw the Big 5 our first 2 days. We chose Jaci’s because it was family friendly and we’re lucky to have a guide in training that was also a primary school

Dear whenifnotnow Than you for the positive feedback. It was a pleasure having you and your family part of the Jaci's Lodges family. We are in summer season and experiencing out of the ordinary temperatures, but we are happy to hear that you were pleased with the animal sightings that you have seen, and that Andrew and Allison were entertaining the kids with activities. Thank you for the feedback regarding the food and I am happy to hear the chefs were accommodated regarding the vegetables and that you enjoyed the "braai". Have a prosperous 2019 and we hope to have you and your family back soon.

When it comes to safari experiences, South Africa is filled with luxury lodge selections. But what sets Jaci’s Safari Lodge, and the adjacent Jaci’s Tree Lodge, apart is their location in off the radar Madikwe Game Reserve (Big Five territory), their amazing hospitality and

You can arrange for lunch before hand with the lodge for the day you are arriving. Meals are usually coffee and rusk in the morning before the game drive and brunch around 10h00. There are snacks around 16h00 before the afternoon game drive and dinner after. They do a menu for kids as well. As for the dress - the mornings might be cool so a light jacket is recommended. It should be fairly hot so sunhats and sunblock is important. The vehicles usually has a rain poncho on them. The weather will be warm enough to swim.

Hi, we flew into Jo'burg, stayed over one night, then had a car pick us up about 9:00 in the morning. We were traveling with children, so this seemed the easiest and least stressful. It is about a 4 hour drive from Jo'burg to Madikwe, but our driver was great, full of interesting facts, and pointed out things along the way. We stopped about halfway, to stretch & grab something to eat. Through the Lodge you can reserve a car service, City Hopper, which was excellent for us. We also had the same driver for the return trip. I don't know about flying into Botswana, but the Lodge could have more info on this. Good Luck!
