I have to say this lodge it's one of the best! I brought my daughter and my two grandsons for a 3 night safari experience. Beautiful spacious chalet. Amazing staff, awesome ranger/tracker. In a middle of a herd of elephants doing their own business, 2 cheetahs walking past while we were outside the car for a coffee break! Lion roars... More

We were here for 3 nights on our honeymoon trip in South Africa. We came from Balule and Kruger National Park to Amakhosi and the landscape is certainly a difference. While the Amakhosi landscape is green and full of interesting plants and birds, Kruger os more Savanne and very dry. The weather, unfortunately, was very bad. It was raining a... More

We stopped off at Amakhozi as a very last minute decision and what a treat it was for us .stunning room/chalet overlooking a river bed . Pullout sofa in the lounge for the children . The game drives were great and we saw loads of animals . Food was tasty though sadly a little hit and miss .

Very Nice Lodge situated in a private game reserve. We had a beautiful suite with a stunning river view. We could see hippo's from our balcony! Diner was great! Consisting of a 3 course menu the first evening and a buffet the Next day. Great place to talk to People also staying in the Lodge as it is quite small.... More

We had booked Amakhosi based on a recommendation by a friend and were so pleased that we did. The service was friendly, welcoming and professional. The food was fantastic, the accommodation superb but the game drives were the highlight. This was the third safari lodge that we have stayed at and, although the first lodge will always be special for... More

I deliberately waited 4 weeks to write this review so that I am able to get over that elated feeling that we had whilst we were there. It has not gone away!!! What a lovely, lovely detailed report, thank you so much and what a wonderful treat to read that the memories of your stay have lingered on long after your stay. Sadly the rain has not come as yet in our area and not even 60- 100 km away the rain is falling beautifully on the coast and should be coming... More

What an outstanding and stunning Private Safari Lodge. The warm welcome and Happy Anniversary from Sonja, Zindile and the rest off the staff the moment we arrived made us feel very special. But the surprises did not end there. Thank you for the congratulation card and sparkling wine in our beautiful suite on our arrival day, but what made it... More

In addition to the very well appointed safari rooms catering to every comfort the beauty and soul of Amakhosi are the staff. Our game drive was brought to life by the skilled and very animated Declan who is highly recommended and made our experience complete. The staff at the lodge must be complimented for their hospitality, willingness to please and... More

This is an absolute gem of a place. Everything is just right and it's the little touches that make it stand apart. The game drives were great, with a special mention to Sibu and Present, our ranger and tracker respectively.
