First evening We saw 5 lions by a waterhole. It was simply amazing. The rest of the days We saw cheetahs, meerkats. Rhinocerous and a brunch of other animals. Our guide Lance was very good. The food and wine was good. The huts för spacious and had a nice view over a waterhole.

Great Reserve to visit and explore. Facilities and staff are A+. Guides are excellent. Wildlife viewing is awesome, offering some animals infrequently seen during most safaris (i.e, pangolin, aardvark, etc.). Unlike the "something around every corner" vibe of a Kenya or Tanzania safari, animals here are often elusive and need true field tracking skills...which the guides have. It makes for... More

Well informed rangers and trackers. Beautiful landscapes. Friendly staff. Food was amazing. Been there before, our happy place in the Northern Cape. Love the red sand! Will definitely go... More

What a fabulous destination Tswalu is. Vast open plains, red sands, great accomodation and staff, excellent food and service, couldn't ask for anything better. We were keen to see a pangolin, and our guide Francois and tracker Ben delivered on the first evening, an unbelievable experience. We were lucky to see a female leopard on two separate occasions, meerkats rising... More

This was our 3rd visit to Tswalu and the BEST!! Our previous visit in 2015 was not good to put it mildly. We posted a review detailing that stay. The adventure and the luxury of going to Tswalu begins with your flight from J’Burg (or Cape Town). You fly with Fireblade Aviation (owned by the Oppenheimer family, mainly to cater to their companies, including their ownership of Tswalu), and the pampering begins. Let me begin by saying that our driver initially took us to the Federal Aviation Terminal at... More

You cannot see the Big Five in the Tswalu reserve. There are no elephants. That is a great thing as in most other game parks there is the usual rush and hunt to find all five animals for each guest. Whoever chose the five animals clearly had it in for field guides as a search for the big five invariably... More
