The entire property is staffed by the friendliest and most-accommodating people. Always ready to help. The food was delicious — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — and our room was always clean. The laundry option was clutch.
My husband and I stayed here at the start of our honeymoon. We stayed at 5 different camps and lodges. This one was by far the largest. This lodge seems to cater to large tour operators and groups. Dinners were large buffets. Floor in the room was dirty. Highlights were definitely the sunset river cruise (a MUST do) and the team that ran the cruise. The grounds themselves were very nice and had a lot of wildlife walking across the property.
We had a family vacation with our son and our daughter-in-law and their 3 girls (11, 15, & 17). It was our first tirp to Africa and an unforgettable adventure! I really did not want to go to Africa, becaue of preconceived ideas about bugs/insects, expected 3rd world conditions and the outbreak of the covid 19 virus. Wow were my expectations surpassed - no bugs, very accomodating hosts, Friendly, friendly people and the accomodations were clean, comfortable and exotic. Our first stop was the Chobe Game Lodge and it is an extremely well run operation. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely happy to see us. The accomodations were first rate and we all felt very safe. The kitchen staff and the chefs were fantasic and the food was all very good. Breakfast in the AM included an omlette bar and your choice of all the popular breakfast items. The best part of the Chobe Game Lodge was our guide Flo. She was knowledgeable, professional and unflappable, which is a good quality to have when you are guiding guests within two meters of a pair of Lion brothers. Flo was a ture professional who took pride in her work (and enjoyed what she was doing). She was also very patient and answered ALL of our questions with grace and a humility that made us feel that we were not just crazy guests, but old friends who entrusted her with our families safety while getting a first hand exposure to wild Africa game animals. If you have an opportunity to visit the Chobe Game Lodge,DO NOT pass it up…
A charming property located in the Chobe National Park itself. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, and the beds are very comfortable. The Chobe River is right in front of the rooms though you can't see it from the balcony of the rooms as trees generally obstruct the view - which is a pity (not that I am advocating cutting down trees!). There is a pleasant boardwalk that you can stroll on next to the river where you can stare into Zambia (on the opposite bank). I applaud the use of electric vehicles for game drives (for which there are two) - though not for airport pick-ups where it took a long time to get to the property from Kasane Airport. Obviously the game viewing is sometimes the luck of the draw - I was unfortuante in that in 4 days I didn't see a single predator (lion, leopard or hyena). Plenty of zebra, kudu, elephant, crocodile, buffalo, baboons and giraffes though - and literally thousands of antelope. I see other reviewers saw a better selection so I guess it must depend when in the year you go and lady luck. The guides though are very good and the staff at the property are very welcoming and friendly. The food is excellent with some nice South African wines. I would say the camp could benefit from some better lighting - it does get quite dark at night.…
The place is located in the middle of the National park and it is the only hotel that is actually inside the park. The transfer picked us up from the airport on a very stylish doorless 9-seater SUV. The same car was used for safari. The hotel is almost wild, you can see warthogs and baboons just walking inside the hotel, next to the pool and restaurant. Elephants you can also see from the wooden promenade of the hotel. The hotel also has a private pier for boat game cruises. Both cars and boats are 100% electric, since the hotel cares about the environment. Rooms are very authentic and spacious. We lived in a suite, so apart from a living room and several extra beds in a neighboring room we had a private pool. Water, anti-mosquito and light snacks were included in the room as well as the minibar. Waiters in the restaurant are quite friendly but very slow. The food is good on all the courses - breakfast, lunch, dinner. Since we were a company of six, the hotel once arranged a special lunch for us on the terrace next to the river. You can buy souvenirs inside. Overall it was a great experience but the hotel needs renovation, I would make the service more efficient (if you stay at the restaurant or bar after 10 pm the staff gets nervous and you are hinted to go to the room). Such unique places deserves a bit better service. …
