The tents are spacious and uber comfortable, whilst making you feel like you are right in the bush. I had spotted hyena whooping right outside my tent which was unforgettable. Mankwe have a massive concession area in the greater Okavango world heritage park which was remote and very wild (great wildlife sightings including leopard and to many elephants to count)....

We spend one night at one of their camp sites. It was coincidentally my wife's birthday, so we asked if we could eat at the Lodge. They agreed and we had a delicious meal. Then they dimmed the lights and the entire staff complement filed in, singing for my wife. The chef then disappeared and returned with a cake, complete...

We had a great stay at Mankwe Bush Lodge. They have big campsites with bucket shower and fireplace. We took the afternoon of and enjoyed the swimming pool together with some beers and drinks. We were asked if we joined for dinner, which we did. Monti and her colleague made the table and we really felt special. We had a...

We had a warm welcome after a terrible day. Pieter and his staff gave us the tent accommodation instead of camping because it was very cold. We also appreciate the warm shower that night. We wish you all the best and we can recommend it to anyone.

Welcome sight after many hours drive from the bush to this lovely lodge. Very nice and spacious tents with ensuite bath & shower. Small pool for refreshing dip after the hot journey and lovely deck and fire for enjoying a drink before heading to bed. Food was EXCELLENT! Only about 1.5 hours drive from Maun. I will be back with...

August 2014 We had a fabulous stay at Mankwe and Te'ar, his staff and everyone we interacted with there were wonderful and went above and beyond the call of duty to support our guide and our group. In a trip that ranged through many different types of accommodations, our experience at Mankwe shines as one that was authentic, warm and...

Other hotels were full, so we had to spend the night here. Placed 45 minutes away from the park, it takes forever after having spent the whole day on the car... Once there you can find big tents for each couple. You can spot some wholes between the wood floor, but we couldn't find any insect on our tent, so...

We camped here for one night. Staff chopped firewood for us. Our campsite was very far from the reception. 20 minutes driving! So it was very remote and the campsites are not fenced off. We were a bit scared for wild animals so went to bed early. There was no hot water in our abolution block.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated between the Moremi Game Reserve and the Chobe National Park, Mankwe Moremi Game ReserveMankwe Bush Lodge is an ideal gateway to exploring this area. Moremi is undoubtedly one of the most famous Parks in Africa. Moremi Game Reserve is the only officially protected area of the Okavango Delta, and as such holds tremendous scientific, environmental and conservation importance. Moremi Game Reserve is situated in the central and eastern areas of the Okavango, and includes the Moremi Tongue and Chief's Island, boasting one of the richest and most diverse ecosystems on the continent. This makes for spectacular game viewing and bird watching, including all major naturally occurring herbivore and carnivore species in the region, and over 400 species of birds, many migratory and some endangered. Both Black and White Rhino have recently been re-introduced, now making the reserve a 'Big Five' destination. Contained within an area of approximately 3900 sq. kms, where land and Delta meet to create an exceedingly picturesque preserve of floodplains - either seasonally or perennially wet, waterways, lagoons, pools, pans, grasslands and riparian, riverine and mopane forests. This terrain makes driving Moremi's many loops and trails both delightful and, at times, totally inspiring. Overlooking the bush and mopane forest, Mankwe's tents offer comfortable accommodation. The 10 safari tents are set on wooden decks overlooking a small valley. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with shower, wash basin and flush toilet. The camp is run on solar power. Walk in tents are furnished with either two x twin beds or a double bed, chair, bed side tables, water pourer, glasses, safari chairs on patio, steel clothes and hanging space, large open mosquito gauze windows, and front door. Towels and bathroom guest amenities are provided. (please bring swimming towels). Trips can be arranged between Mankwe Bush Lodge and the Mboma Boat Station up into the Okavango Delta, offering the visitor a unique safari tour with a full day's game viewing in between. Or combine a stay at Mankwe with a game drive tour of Moremi, and an overnight at Xobega Island Camp - offering a true Okavango Delta water based experience. ... more   less
