We loved our stay at Xigera Camp! Prior to arriving at Xigera Camp, we had stayed two nights at Selati Camp and two nights at Bush Camp in the Sabi Sabi Game Reserve in South Africa and also two nights at Duma Tau in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve in Botswana. We chose to couple Xigera camp with Duma Tau so...

We stayed at this camp as part of a safari trip around Botswana. By far this was the most luxurious of the four camps we stayed in and perfectly situated on the waters of the Delta. The camp surroundings were lavish and the main reception area large with a very nice gift shop and a star viewing platform. The food...

Arrived at Xigera by boat to a very warm Dumela welcome, I thought the entire camp staff turned out to welcome me, not quite but almost. Which was amazing as I arrived solo. That was very special. The food was great, staff great. This was my favourite gift shop, top notch sales ladies, I had to give away my yoga...

Xigera was the second stop on our Botswana adventure. We arrived there after staying at Duma Tau, which we had loved and not wanted to leave. So perhaps we were feeling a bit pouty when we first got there...We received such a lovely welcome on our arrival that we warmed to the place very quickly. Olivia, the manager, was fantastic...

My husband and I had a good time at Xigera camp. It is primarily a water-based camp and the wildlife is not very profuse. Having said that the staff is terrific and will do everything to make your stay to a success. E.G. My husband and I asked to have our dinner at a separate table and they immediately set...

I do Deluxe Vacation Tours to South Africa, Zambia & Botswana. We stayed at Xigera Camp for 2 nights in early June. Simply a spectacular Water Camp in The Delta and I am already planning another trip for 6-8 Guests to join me this November, to travel with me back to Xigera Camp! I am also taking Guests to other...

We had high expectations at we had travelled with Wilderness before to the Delta and that trip had been absolutely wonderful. Xigera was a wonderful place with absolutely spectacular views and nature, and as such a breathtaking experience. We had asked for a guide that would focus on birds. However he was not as good as expected, the person had...

Thank you for your comments and feedback which we value greatly. We are sorry to hear that there were a couple of points that made your stay less than exceptional. On orientation, our guests are told about all activities on offer as well as who their guide is, and that the guide will discuss options/activities with them. We are very...

We spent two nights at Xigera, and like many of the other reviewers, found this to be a beautiful lodge but short on game. Know that you are going to experience the peacefulness of the delta ecosystem, and plan your game viewing for elsewhere. That being said, we arrived to find an elephant right outside our camp, and heard another...

We stayed at Xigera in April as part of our Honeymoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were very welcoming, warm and helpful, the service and management were exemplory. Food was excellent, drinks were excellent and, whilst we are not big eaters or drinkers by any means, sometimes you can feel a sense of ‘portion control’ with all inclusive (as...

We were here in November, likely when the water levels are at their lowest. The area looked great but the 'water' based activities felt somewhat constrained. The boat trip & swim in the lagoon however, were a highlight. If you are looking for a water based camp in November, our experience was that others were better for this at this...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Deep in the Delta, surrounded by crystal-clear channels of water and lush vegetation, Xigera Camp is the quintessential Okavango experience. This blue-green world is home to a number of water-loving Okavango 'specials' including spotted-necked otter, Pel's fishing-owl, wattled crane and the Delta's highest concentration of the elusive sitatunga antelope. Situated on the aptly-named Paradise Island, the almostyear-round water makes this the ideal camp for exploring by motor boat and mokoro (dugout canoe) - an idyllic connection to a bygone era that allows silent and tranquil progress across waterlily-dotted waters. •10 tents (1 family) • mokoro • motorboat • game drives (water dependent) ... more   less
