We recently stayed at the Chrystie house while visiting family. The location is great for getting around the Hudson Valley and the property is situated on a very nice setting overlooking views of the Hudson river while the fall foliage was still on the trees. We were very happy with our room and the breakfast was delicious. Thank you for... More

We were two couples and stayed in two rooms at the Chrystie House in mid-Oct. It was a lovely visit; the beds were comfortable, the surroundings were beautiful, the host (Mr. Lee) was most welcoming and interesting, and the food at breakfast was delicious and ample. The house itself is historic - maybe it should be called the Hamilton House... More

I can't recommend the Chrystie house enough. I first walked in and felt overwhelmed by the authentic colonial/federal feel. I quickly found out it was the former home of a founding father. The art work on the walls was painted by the owner who is as interesting as the history of the house (and of which he is eager to... More

We were three siblings celebrating a special b day. My sister in law picked Chrystie house to stay at and we were were not disappointed. The house was beautiful , filled with art, books and wonderful owners who love what they do. The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Plus I had a great night sleep in a plush bedroom... Nice house, good breakfast, pleasant and knowledgable owner, comfortable beds. Our only complaint is that the inside and outside could have been a lot cleaner and also more recently painted. Close to train, restaurants, lots of parking

We can't stop talking about the Chrystie Bed and Breakfast. First of all, it is an incredible piece of architecture with an interesting history. The owner has renovated this property with impeccable detail and as he shares the story if this home with you, it takes you back in time. Set on about 3 acres of land with the Hudson... More

Cool house with a great history that you can get if you speak at length with the proprietor. He's a really smart and interesting man who is a real delight to talk to. Wonderful rooms and wonderful breakfast on the patio. I'll come here again.

Environment: The whole house has a very warm, inviting and historic feeling. It was perfect for a getaway from NYC. The furnishings are unique and have both Eastern and Western, classical and modern origins. There are many exquisite paintings in the house, most - or perhaps all - by Mr. Lee, one of the hosts. There is also a great... More

Room: top knotch. clean, spacious, and inspiring. Breakfast: warm quiche (vegetarian options!) from the local cafe and Mr. Lee was flexible about making us eggs too. Town/Location: Beacon has a lot to offer. We didn't even make it to Dia Beacon because we were caught up chatting with all the business owners rebuilding the town. Friendliest town and a hot... My family booked three rooms at the Chrystie for a weekend reunion, and by the end of the weekend, we felt as if this gracious house was our home. The proprietor was charming, warm, and welcoming, and his beautiful house—cared for by him and his wife—was meticulously clean and absolutely gorgeous. They missed no detail. They clearly take pride in... More
