Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Booked Coach and Horses because of location as needed to be close to Beaminster. Overnight stay only. Room was very comfortable and clean and well furnished .Good shower. Had an evening meal which was excellent. Made to feel very welcome. Will stay here again when down in area.

A very nicely maintained little Inn,Very helpful friendly, hard working couple, dog friendly.half an hour from Bridport, out in the beautiful Dorset, countryside, also close to Somerset border, and Devon, maybe,an hour away. A very good Breakfast English or Continental, also a small Evening menu, with some homemade goods but too be honest so many good pubs and Restaurants close by its hard to choose, fantastic rooms,a very big walk in shower, room for two, also a very comfortable and nicely laid out bedroom, a very big TV,if you want it I would say newly decorated rooms Bathroom.still some work in process downstairs. Very dog friendly. Off road parking.

Booked on booking.com. Expected a country pub with rooms above. The pub was closed and looked derelict and it was confusing to get in. Reception and communal areas very dirty. Shown to room. On first view looked ok. Look deeper. It was finished to such a poor standard. Dirty, paint on floor, poor finishes everywhere. TV was good. Breakfast was ok but sausages are awful. Breakfast room a mess like the rest of the place. Overall not what I expected. Could be great. Kitchen looked grubby. Such a shame. I will not return I’m afraid.

I was desperate to book a particular date, I wished I'd stayed desperate. Hugely dissapointed. Scrambled eggs were dry, overcooked and flavourless, they came up served on one slice of the thinnest bread accompanied by a small container of baked beans. A jacket potatoe ordered the previous evening was served in a soup dish. No larger on tap. Devoid of any atmosphere. The area outside was dirty and unkempt. I cannot believe the positive reviews on this establishments are real....the one positive note was that the bed was comfortable.

They no longer offer food and are only open 6-9 Friday & Saturday. They also have no beer on tap having converted the cellar to "staff" accommodation. They were recently shown on channel 4 but have gone back to their old ways. Such a shame as I used to stop off on my way back from seeing family in Yeovil.

Cancelled my booking inside of 2 weeks of our arrival citing "technical glitches with the booking system". No response to my follow up email. Shockingly poor customer service. Wouldn't even try to book here again. Do yourself a favour book elsewhere

Outside appearance was unkempt and untidy. Reception area was very dark and smelt musty/damp, and a bit doggy.

Side access for rooms - presume this was the beer garden - garden furniture all in need of some tlc. Although garden is a bit of a sun trap.
Room was ok, mattress had the odd spring poking up, but not too uncomfortable. Bathroom was beautiful, obviously new but unfinished. Hole behind the toilet, sealant missing where the bathroom door met the huge shower. No shower door or curtain to stop the floor getting wet, which made it a bit slippery. No anti slip mat for inside the shower and nothing to grab if you did slip. But the shower was great!

Breakfast was good. Good selection of breakfast items available. Served in a bright room off the reception area.

We had dinner in the bar on the our arrival night. The bar was quite dark. Limited selection available - both pies, but they were good home made pies.

Could be a great little place if it was really tidied and brightened up a bit.

Relaxing overnight business stay. Comfortable bed, modern walk in shower, flexible breakfast option for vegetarian. Family run, friendly and helpful. Some rooms accessible via outside steps. Not all rooms have a bath. Ample free parking.

Not really a review of the hotel but their customer relations. We are not able to go the hotel as my daughter is unwell. I was out of the cancellation date but they have cancelled without asking me to pay. In this climate that is so good of them. Thank you.

I booked a room for my family at the Coach and Horses, South Perrott, 2 weeks before my one-night stay. We were having a family trip to Dorset to celebrate mine and my son's birthday. My booking confirmation said check-in was from 6pm. I phoned them at 5pm to say we would arrive at 8pm and they said that was fine.
At 7pm, the manager of the Coach and Horses called to say that 'someone else had checked in to our room' and that they could no longer accommodate us, leaving me, my husband and our two children stranded in a car park on a Saturday night, 4 hours from home, with no where to stay that night. The manager could only offer a few names of alternative places to stay, but had no telephone numbers to give us. We eventually found another place to stay after a stressful ring-round of other places. One of the other landladies we called told me she has had other last-minute calls from people let down by the Coach and Horses. I advise caution before booking a room at the Coach & Horses Inn. The landlady's organisational skills are clearly shambolic.
Obviously, I can't rate the other aspects of this B&B, as we never even made it through the door.
