Not happy with our room at all I had my 10 year old Grandson with me, we were put in a room located at the end by the road, heavy traffic. I booked this in March, was unable to view the room before booking.. won’t be back

My family and I have visited The blue lagoon & sister property; Hillview Cottages for the past 4 years and every time we go we are so happy with our visit. Tom, his family, and the staff are always willing to help with any concerns that arise; which are always minimal. It is always a somber moment when we leave because the stay is always so peaceful and wonderful. We continually look forward to returning and breaking away from the busy city.

We just came back from a 3 day stay in one of the suites. It was modest accommodations at best, but you are basically paying for the amenities which is a non-crowded beach front and ability to park your boat if you own one. The beach area is very shallow and good for people who have young kids. Fishing can be done off the dock but it’s very shallow there so you may prefer to take a boat out for this. They also have kayaks, canoes and row boats to use that they do not charge extra for which is nice. Other resorts I’ve stayed at charge $25 or more an hour to rent. We met a lot of people who have been coming to this spot for generations and said it’s one of the best locations for the above. Everyone seemed very friendly and welcoming. I would however recommend doing a dollar store run and bringing your own items like paper plates, cutlery and paper towels. Usually I stock up on all this but since we were only going for 3 days I didn’t bother this trip and was surprised that the suite didn’t supply much. We also liked that this resort was outside of Lake George village because we don’t like the crowded downtown. It’s also situated on a flat area so makes walking easier for people who may be challenged by a hill or lots of stairs. If we go back we may look into booking one of the cottages. I got the sense this is the main reason people book at this resort. We spoke with people who said you need to do it on average a year out but if you call regularly, you can often luck out with a cancellation. There are grills you can use as well and a large communal fire pit. I recommend this resort if you are looking to visit the Lake George area.…

It took about 5 hours to get to the resort from where we live so when we got to our cottage we were pretty disappointed to smell a gross musty smell throughout the house after a long car ride. There is wood paneling on about every wall in the home except the small bathroom so it isn’t exactly the most aesthetically pleasing place to stay but the house honestly wasn’t terrible if we are talking about having all the necessities. There were many huge spiders that we found in the house including one in the shower which was disgusting and terrifying for our daughter. There was even a mouse or maybe even mice that we found the kitchen. When we told the front desk they didn’t care at all. The owners wife was very nice but her husband was mean and disrespectful. He didn’t seem to care at all about us being uncomfortable so we left 2 days before we were supposed to. He didn’t give us a refund for the 2 days that we weren’t there either. We will not be returning and I wouldn’t recommend you go either.…

Let me start by saying the rooms are fine and clean BUT are certainly no steal of a deal--plus we stay in the off season. The hotel efficiency's are small but the bed is comfortable. The cabins are all being updated and are nice, the best part is having a full kitchen. There is a Large house you can rent on the hill-which is epic. Well decorated, great views and lots of bedrooms and massive open floor kitchen living room with balcony. I have stayed in all of them and have first hand direct knowledge of each. I will also say, for perspective, all neighboring properties are cheaper. I have chosen those over BL for price a few times. The competitors rooms are very comparable and clean, just dated. Although they may have less extra perks-beach boat dock things like that. There is a nice but small open field in the middle to throw a frisbee and what not. Parking is fine with well marked spots. The WIFI is great which was added in the past few years and was really needed because up until that there was no service. Blue Lagoon has a great but small beach with a boat launch right in the middle of it. The water is well marked with buoys and also has many Adirondack chairs and a tiny swing set area. They have row boats and such for you to use. They used to have a crappy ping pong table, I don't think that's been replaced. The dock is decrepit, off balance, dangerous and narrow. We (about 50+) have stayed here for about a decade straight. Always in September on what may or may not be their last weekend open for the season. We always rent the entire place out. We have never been given a discount or group rate. We have handicapped family so it is one of the only locations ON Lake George that all the cabins are on one level. For this reason we can not leave. When we first started coming we were provided a fair amount of wood for each night. For the past few years they have been extremely stingy and down right disrespectful with the offerings. They have actually given us construction debris a couple times as our wood for the night. I'm talking interior wood trim and paneling with full blown nails and stuff (pics attached). When we have approached them asking for more wood and explained we are even willing to buy it, they provide soaking wet wood that won't burn or just ignore it or give us barely any at all. They have instructed us to get fetch it ourselves from a scrap pile across the street. Does it make sense to have people carrying wood cross Route 9N on a blind corner. Not to mention the fire pit has been falling apart for years. They have done continuous upgrades to the property which is amazing but you can't help but wonder if this "bonus" weekend we provide to them doesn't help cover some of those costs. We are not looking for something for nothing. Furthermore they are so short sighted they could be profiting by providing an additional service. Again we have no choice to leave and they must know that. So hey take advantage of your biggest most consistent customer-cool!…

The Blue Lagoon saved our family trip! After a disastrous 24 hours in a tent during rain we needed a place stay… the Blue lagoon had rooms available and was the best night sleep ever. Beautiful 2 bedroom suite and had everything we needed! Thank you!

The resort is great! Everyone we spoke with was pleasant, accommodating and warm. The location is great. It’s in a quiet spot on the lake. We drove into Bolton almost everyday. There’s a cute little store down the street with coffee, sandwiches (amazing sandwiches!) called Up North. The beach is cute esp for little kids. The pillows were flat as a pancake. The bedding, aside from the quilts, were a dingy “white.” The bath towels didn’t fit around the body of a 90 lb teenager let alone an adult. My recommendation would be to purchase bigger towels and replace your pillows and sheets (and wash with bleach!). The sheets were very “pilly” and just old. We went to a local store to buy a pillow for 1 person but the rest just piled the others up. The room was clean. We liked the updated decor and fridge. The freezer part was nice, too. We wanted to use the pool across the street, but the area was trashy looking. There were piles of junk for a yard sale (might have been somewhere giving things away for free) and the general area where the cottages and pool were located looked like absolute trash. I was surprised because the resort was so nice. We liked sitting outside especially at night. We brought a citronella candle and it helped with bugs. Overall, the resort was very good. I’d stay there again if not swimming. We stayed in the suite on the top floor. …

The pictures of this place don’t do it justice. The view was beautiful and the cottages were clean and spacious. I wish we could have stayed longer. We had an amazing stay and this is definitely our new go to spot!
