North Lakes Lodges are pretty good. We stayed in Darwin 6 which, being furthest away from the entrance, is probably the most private of those on the complex - which we appreciated. We also appreciated the staff leaving some basic foodstuffs such as bread, tea coffee and milk although we did bring our own as well.

The lodges are very spacious. Although we didn’t use the sauna, the Jacuzzi was in use on a daily basis. The bed is huge and comfortable although it was quite high off the ground which could be problematic for some people with mobility issues. There are three very large screen TV’s (lounge, bedroom, Jacuzzi area) and the kitchen is fully equipped.

There were a couple of areas where we were marginally disappointed. Firstly, in the description on the Brayton Park website, it states that you can “watch your favourite Netflix show on the wall mounted TV.” We assumed that this meant Netflix was complimentary but it isn’t and we had to phone home to get the details of our account. Secondly, the lounge furniture i.e. the settee. was too shallow and therefore not that comfortable. Finally, and surprisingly for the UK, we had a couple of very warm nights and would have liked to have opened windows in the bedroom to cool down. However, all the windows are full length (except in the bathroom) and therefore in effect we would have left doors open to the bedroom and the lounge to get a through draft. Although we were in a remote location which felt very safe, leaving doors open at night isn’t something we could bring ourselves to do – my wife was worried about the possibility of visiting insects and I was concerned about invalidating insurance in the event that someone wandered in and helped themselves to our stuff.

Despite these criticisms, our overall experience at North Lakes Lodges was very good and it is recommended whether driving into the Lake District or visiting the Cumbrian Coast.

Recently stayed at North Lakes Lodges, where we stayed in Wordsworth 3 for 3 nights. Everything about our stay was amazing!
I called beforehand to arrange champagne and flowers to be delivered to the lodge before our arrival to celebrate our engagement. The flowers were beautiful and my fiancé loved the surprise.
The lodge was immaculately cleaned with everything you could possible want there, milk was left in the fridge and bread left on the side. The lodge is very spacious, the rooms were bright and very comfortable. The en suite for both bedrooms lead out onto the decking with the hot tub which is under cover and protected from the wind and rain. The TV outside was a great idea and it was lovely to relax.
We ate in the restaurant twice and both times the food was amazing. The bar area is comfortable for a drink before or after your meal too.
There’s plenty to do near by if you wanted to go out and about and a guide in the lodge to inform you of all the local places to visit.
We will definitely be back and will 100% recommend!

We booked the Brayton lodge for our 10th wedding anniversary as we wanted to travel up to Gretna . The view is breathtaking. We have stayed in lots of hoseason lodges but this is the best yet ! Everything you could need . We did go out a couple of times but mainly stayed in the lodge chilling and watching tv . The hot tub is amazing and a nice added feature of the outside tv . We loved the log burner going at night . We ate in the restaurant on the Wednesday night the food is amazing very large portions . The lodges are very well spaced so no noise at all from the other lodges .

I can’t recommend this place enough, stunning modern clean lodges with big glass windows and the most gorgeous views, I can not find fault with this place is gorgeous, we stayed in a Wordsworth lodge, they are very generously spaced out and very private, we loved the little touches on arriving, fresh bread and milk butter tea coffee and biscuits perfect if you’ve a had a long drive up there. We had an issue with our hot tub, the engineer and the owner was out as soon as they could to fix it as fast as they could (Thank you) we have rebooked in February in the Darwin lodge and we can wait. Thank you North lake Loges.

Me and my family stayed in the Lawson lodge for 4 nights and we will certainly be back.
We booked the lodge as a mini break for half term and somewhere my husband could fish.
The lodge itself has everything you could need to feel at home. The beds are super comfy and you get lots of pillows! In the master we had dressing gowns and slippers.
The living room had plenty of comfy seats and easily moved around so we would sit round the fire, which was amazing! My 2 boys had loads of space to play.
The hot tub we used daily despite it’s raining for most of the stay and was cleaned daily.
The fishing jetty was brilliant and we all caught fish, it was so convenient that is was so close to the lodge.
The staff onsite were so friendly from checking in, to sorting out log packs, food delivery and sorting out our broken DVD player and rescuing my little boys dvd. Thank you!
The location is remote but we found a 15/20minute drive you could find places to visit, eat or explore. It’s well worth the drive to stay in a location like Brayton park.
I would highly recommend a visit to any of the cabins on site as they all looked well spaced out, fantastic views and High spec.
Oh and we had our morning and evening duck visits to the patio outside the lodge, which my boys loved!

This is definitely the best lodge experience we have had. The lodges were spaced out and felt very private. It didn’t feel overlooked by anyone else on the park. The drive spaces are large and often occupied by a family of rabbits and the ducks came by the lodge every evening. The lodge was cleaned to a very high standard and the hot tub was cleaned daily, although we weren’t disturbed at all during the stay. The amenities in the lodge were great and a nice surprise. Quiet, cosy and an escape.

We've stayed in a few lodges recently, usually 3-4 times a year and this was by far the best, in fact I honestly don't think we need to try any others going forward. The park itself is peaceful and the layout means all lodges have great levels of privacy. Compared to other sites there is very little there, no shop, restaurant only open wed-sun in winter months but honestly it's not a problem if anything its nice getting away from it all. The lodge itself was fantastic, such a high standard of decor/furniture, beds so comfy, modern and incredibly clean. We ate in the restaurant on Wednesday and really enjoyed the food, steaks were delicious and deserts although we were stuffed we couldn't resist, great portions and good price for the quality. We had in lodge takeaway on Thursday and again the food was delicious. Our whole family loved this break, didn't want to leave and literally can not wait to go back.

We stayed in the Brayton lodge which was lovely. It was clean, modern and had everything we needed for our stay. The outdoor hot tub with TV was a great part of this lodge and it was good that it was under cover as it meant you could still use the hot tub on a rainy day. Really liked how spaced out the lodges were as it meant you had some privacy and weren’t overlooked by anyone. Although the setting of the park is lovely, there isn’t much to do on the site itself but you can drive into Keswick in about 25 minutes and to Ambleside in an hour so it’s in a good location. The Brayton lodge was one of the best lodges we have stayed in and I would definitely recommend North Lakes Lodges to those wanting to explore The Lake District.

Given the year that we have had, I was so thankful that I had booked this holiday well in advance and that we were able to travel.
We travelled as a family of 6 and stayed in one of the three bed lodges with hot tubs close to the lake.
This part of the park is brilliant. It’s quiet, the lodges are spaced out with open space for the children to play.

The restaurant does a delivery service for the food and although we didn’t have a main meal, we did partake in the desserts on a couple of occasions, which are amazing.

Lodges are clean, modern and spacious.

Shopping deliveries are allowed to the door of the lodge - we used Asda and Sainsburys over the course of the week.

Lodges are quite far away from the main attractions of he lakes, we usually stay on the north west of the lakes and expect the do some driving each day and we don’t mind this too much. Also close enough to the beach as well.

The on site golf is ok, I’m informed by the golfers in the family that it was ok for spending a couple of hours over the week but perhaps not up to the standard of the golf courses that they usually play. I felt that the price to use the course was good and it’s a good feature to have right next to the lodges.

Only thing that we could have benefited from is a mid week towel change. The bathroom floors get very wet and don’t seem to dry at all so the mats provided last a day at most. We also noticed that by the end of the week the hot tub water had started to turn a little bit green.

If you like a quiet environment to relax then these are good lodges. We perhaps wouldn’t stay again purely for the fact that for us they are slightly too far away from the parts of the lakes that we enjoy. Nothing to do with the lodges or service.

There was nothing nearby that we noticed, even in other towns we didn’t find anything. We ate at the restaurant most nights due to this. Hope this helps.

There are no built in bbqs however I think you can rent one from the reception and they give you the coals etc. If I remember correctly it was £10
