Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gorgeous mountain restaurant located at the top of the Bernina Pass - situated just a 10 minute walk up from the Ozpizio Bernina train stop or the Lago Bianco, this restaurant overlooks the Bernina and Palü glaciers. Food is of excellent quality - we had the stinging nettle soup (devine!), dried meat plate (Bundner teller), Gerstensuppe, and mixed salad. The original Engadiner walnut cake is equally delicious. Prices are appropriate. The waitress was quite grumpy and unwelcoming. We frequently had to get her attention, and she appeared bothered and annoyed that we were wasting her time. Other than that, this is an excellent little place to visit for lunch.

If you love quiet, if you love amazing views, if you love amazing food, this is the place to be ! This hotel is located on top of a mountain pass, reachable by buss, car or train (about 10 minutes hiking below the hotel), so there are no stores close by, but if you don't mind that, you can enjoy the views on the Cambrena glacier and the surrounding mountains of the Bernina massive. It's a great starting point for many mountain hikes. The food is FANTASTIC ! And the manager and staff are really friendly. We return every year !

We stayed for my mother’s 70th birthday. The Manager could not have been more welcoming. Heavy snow meant we had to leave later than planned and they were so hospitable. The place is utterly gorgeous with incredible views and the hotel is warm, welcoming and cozy.

We thought the road/path up to the hotel from the train station would be relatively clear but it wasn't so we had to work our way up to the hotel through snow - there are easier forms of exercise! We stayed overnight on a half board basis so had a nice two course meal on the night and a good breakfast the following morning. Our room was pleasant with a great view. We found the staff friendly and the lady gave us a lift to the next station on the morning so we didn't have to go back down the hill. Thank you.

This isn't an easy review given that Switzerland is neither famed for great cuisine or value for money. Ristorante Cambrena is located high up on a mountain pass near St Moritz in an area of naturally outstanding beauty. However the dining room has a bland and uninspiring feeling, a theme was going to carry on for the evening. It has to be said that the waitress was efficient, run a tight ship, and kept the restaurant clean and tidy but sadly that's where it ends. The waitress was as miserable as sin, almost bordering on rude & dare one change their mind of menu choice whilst ordering which is rewarded with an extra special grimace. The menu was very very expensive but bearing in mind that we were high in the mountains and needed to eat with little choice around us we settled for 'sausage and chips' (can't remember the posh name) and that is just how it arrived 'sausage and chips' with no garnish or anything. We paid the bill, less a tip and left. I'm racking my mind to think of any positives other than already mentioned but I can't other than the view of the mountains on the outside. We won't be returning

Fine dining after a snow hiking tour to Diavolezza and staying overnight at over 2'300 meter sl. was an exciting experience. Fine food, charming services and very nice and comfortable rooms are more than what you would expect in this high mountain region. Could be a way point on your trip across the alps.

On a recent trip from Poschiavo to st. Moritz, we stopped to eat at this hilltop restaurant. We enjoyed excellent local fare including ravioli pesto, ravioli with zucca, minestrone and strudel. All excellent. We were treated to a few songs and harmonica by two local mountain men. And the view of the glacier is the cherry on the cake. A must visit. Don't miss the jersey cows across the road. Most beautiful faces I've seen!

We did a backcountry skiing trip through the Bernina Alps and on our last day we spent a night at Cambrena. Very nice and clean rooms and bathrooms. Everthing renovated. Dry room for skiboots. Very good dinner with local style and a very nice breakfeast with everthing we wished - Müsli and International breakfast, perfect Capucciono. The location is designed for skiing and backcountry skiing. Last but not least I forgot my ebook reader - after an email message the reader was found and sent back without any charges - this is really a top service and very nice - Thanks to Alice -
