This camp is located on a large private reserve and is built on a hill with panoramic views across the park to other hills and with the typical sight of rocks precariously balanced at all angles on view for miles in the distance. The approach is via a dirt track and the feel is of total isolation. The camp consists...

This is a well refined lodge, seamlessly blending with the spectacular environment of the Matopos. The chalets are all beautiful, all have a view over the valley and into the hills. The common areas are warm and very cleverly built to incorporate the boulders of the kopje. Night lighting enhances the magic of the place. Kids love to roam around...

Where to start........ From the moment we were picked up by our guide Shepard we knew this would become a trip of a lifetime. The room was fantastic, very comfortable with all the amenities needed to make our stay just right. Big Cave's location is an outstanding asset! The Camp takes full advantage of this settling into the amazing Matopos as if it was always part of the scenery. Manager Lynn hosts guests with family style dining in a delightful multinational atmosphere. Guide Tawanda is personable, professional, humorous, and quite knowledgeable about the cave drawings, the area wildlife, and the history...

We stayed at Big Cave Camp for two nights on a recent visit to Zimbabwe. What an experience - a lovely room built amongst the huge stones of the area. This had a view of the whole valley with only dassies for company! Lynne and her staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was excellent, the sunset drives wonderful...

We stayed here for 2 nights on the campsite and we were there were no other tourists. The camp facilities were a bit older, but they were clean. When we arrived it was dificult to find some staff-member, and the man at the campsite was a little bit reserved.

We stayed here because a local friend arranged our doing so, and at first were put off by the price — but it was well worth the splurge! Keep in mind that the rates include 3 hearty meals, served in a lumberjack-type hall around an enormous table; fun to swap travel stories with other guests, both there and around the...

This is a special spot!! I loved the feeling of privacy - looking out from my lodge I could've been the only one around for miles. Magical light works at dawn and at dusk. Delicious food. Peaceful walks with majestic and mysterious vistas. Well worth a visit!
