I was working in the area and decided to give myself a break for a few days. I had stayed at this very nice bush camp many years ago - now, the place was even nicer with much more vegetation. The food was lovely, the luxery tent wonderful and the game drives were great, with spottings of lions, elephant and other interesting animals! The guide and driver managed to find them in the green season, well done. The staff is super friendly and dedicated. I highly recommend staying here.
Unfortunately, we could not visit Zambia and this great camp due to the covid-19 pandemic in April 2020. The owners surprised me how willingly and without any excuses they agreed to a refund. I really liked this dealing and I didn´t demand an refund immediately. I asked for it after 6 months. The owner sent them to me immediately. I appreciate this very fair dealing. As soon as I visit Zambia, my first trip will lead Mayukuyuku Bush Camp.
What an absolutely beautiful place. Stunning location, wonderful people. Lineker and Gilbert were our guides, so helpful. My 2 boys aged 15 and 10 had a fabulous time on the river, spotting game and learning how to fish. (Catch and release!) Night time safari was an experience of a lifetime, food was wholesome, well cooked and beautifully presented. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
Wonderful camp. We will definitely go back. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The environment is peaceful, beautiful and relaxing. Highlights include breathtaking views of the Kafue river from the comfort of you tent/campsite; fishing/angling right by the campsite; a real possibility of seeing at least one of the big five - elephants; bushbuck and monkey visits; and plenty butterflies. There is however room for improvement: We could have had a better briefing at the reception about what to expect: that the monkeys might steal your food or surround you when looking for food (they won’t harm you though I think/hope); or that the hippos stay very close to the camp site all day all night; or that a self-drive is possible, and may be preferable to a game drive which costs $45 per person on a route which is tarred for the most part and which is can be used by most vehicles.…
