Just excellent. Wonderful artist and camp manager David Kelly was so welcoming and knowledgeable regarding the area and its wildlife. Chalet was charmingly rustic and extremely comfortable. Loved the ambiance of this place. Staff welcoming, friendly, with much laughter. Loved having the hippos, crocs and baboons and other game nearby. nearby. I'm not much of an eater but food just... The game drives offered superb sightings of leopard and lion on many occasions. The bird life is excellent. Our guide Abraham was absolutely excellent and knew his shrubs, trees, birds and animals. The accommodation a few km from South Luangwa gate was basic and needed some maintenance. We were in unit 5 and the basin’s hot water tap needed repair.... More

This was our 4th visit to Thornicroft and once again we have loved every minute of our stay... The staff are just amazing and always on hand to assist... We have to make special mention to David and, in our minds, the best guide ever, Rodgers... Wow wow, once again we were fortunate enough to see the Wild Dogs, Ginger... More

The lodge is not in premium nick but it is clean and comfortable. The service however is outstanding. We spent two nights and went on three game drives. I would comfortably rate the game drives as very good having seen 4 of the big 5 in one drive. The park must have one of the highest concentration of leopards anywhere... More

The staff and safari guides were professional and the customer service was excellent. We stayed in the chalets which had comfortable beds, electricity and hot water all day. To top it off the meals and deserts were delicious. The entire experience was top notch.

After visiting friends in nearby Malawi, my boyfriend and I took the journey over the border into Zambia for a once-in-a-lifetime safari trip. And my goodness this place did not disappoint! Tucked away in what I would describe as an exclusively secluded area just outside of the South Luangwa National Park, the lodge appears at the end of a dirt... More
