Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

my husband and I stayed here at Potato for 4 nights and we are very happy to have chosen this camp fo our holiday in Lower Zambesi after spending a week in South Luagnwa . Lower Zambesi NP is a really beautiful park which offers very different scenarios ; The camp has a stunning position overlooking the river : the tent is very big , rustic but with anything you need and with an authentic bush feeling ; outside, the small pool , the hammock and the two chairs are very relaxing . The overall atmosphere is lovely : we had visits from elephants just outside the tents and and the hippos at night were a very nice company . Being inside the NP is a great advantage because you can reach far areas and you don’t waist time crossing the river . We loved the wake up call with

Wonderful camp with perfect balance of comfort to authenticity. This was our second trip to Zambia because we loved the people and safari experience, but our first to Potato Bush. We are considering a family return trip for my husband's 80th--something for everyone: drives, walks, boat, fishing, canoe, or simply relaxing!

Fantástic camp, with very beautifull safaritents, located with a great view at the Zambezi river. The staff was very friendly and helpfull, trying to make you feel at home as much as possible, and they succeeded!! Allways friendly and with lots of surprises during our stay. The food was great and served with a smile, every time. Great service! We really, really enyoyed the game drives, saw many, many rare animals (leopards, wild dogs!) had a great time and lots of laughs with Henry, the best guide ever. If we would ever get the chance to return to Zambia, we would definately go back to Potatoe Bush camp!

Having been fortunate enough to visit many safari lodges throughout Africa I have to say that Potato Bush is absolutely one of my best. Potato Bush offers everything a first timer or frequent safari traveler could wish for. It is a small camp so you get all the personal attention you may wish for. The rooms are outstanding. Very spacious with your own veranda, plunge pool, hammock and stunning river views. Beds are luxurious with crisp linen. Bath, twin showers with piping hot water. The food was excellent and they are flexible to your dietary requirements. The game drive guide George was a fountain of knowledge. Having lived and worked in the Lower Zambezi his whole life he was extremely knowledgeable. Fishing in that part of the river never disappoints, great size tiger

This must rate as the best bush/ fishing trip I have ever experienced in the lower Zambezi. When I talk about an African experience, this is the ultimate, from fishing to birding to enjoying the best game on offer, Potato Bush does not disappoint. Thank you for our amazing memories!

Excellent location on the Sambezi river with great view from the terrace over the river. Very attentive and flexible staff and very good meals. Spacious, well equipped rooms with WLAN connection and a very welcome dip pool on the terrace for cooling down after game drives.

We didn't know what to expect, but found Potato Bush Camp to exceed any expectation we might have had. The guiding is exceptional and Annakim, the camp manager, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.

Wonderful location, outstanding hosts, first class cuisine and all the regional wildlife we expected to see. Extremely knowledgeable guides and a lunch on a river sandbar was a pleasant surprise. First time fishing & catching “tiger fish” was a highlight. The entire experience was awesome.
