This place was awesome. Chuck was very knowledgeable of the area. The room we stayed in (opal) was great. Everything was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place in the Hunter Mountain area. I had forgotten

My husband and I are regular visitors of the Fairlawn Inn. We fell in love with the Fairlawn in 2008. We loved it so much, the Fairlawn hosted our wedding in 2012. The charm of each room decorated with beautiful antiques to the unique décor of each bedroom is only the surface of

No Shhhh please, we welcome all guests and new friends. Janet and Steve have become great friends and assets when they visit. Their interactions with other guests are great. We welcome many long term guests who have indeed become friends, some from the first month I bought it in 2002. Thanks for the great review and continued memories we create each time you visit. By the way Steve and Janet are excellent hosts as I have visited their lovely home too. And.. the best part there was no charge and a comparable breakfast was served.

My husband and I had an amazing weekend staying at the Fairlawn Inn. Our room (Opal Room) was spacious, charming, and comfortable. The bathroom was perfect - plenty of space and a very relaxing & luxurious clawfoot tub. Sadly, due to recovering from an injury, the innkeeper

My husband and I stayed overnight at the Fairlawn Inn in Hunter. The weather was a little damp and misty, but that just added to the atmosphere at this lovely little Victorian B&B. We were greeted by Chuck, who runs the Inn and he gave us the tour of the main house. Our room was

Thanks Steve, I always look forward to TAP NY weekend -it is busy but all guests interact and the communal meal I host after the event brings everyone together. No one wants to be "over-served" and have to go out to dinner. This year had many returnees along with the friends they brought. Thanks for you commentary, we appreciate the time you spend to review us. See you soon!

Thanks for your interest in the Fairlawn. We have four common area rooms, the TV room with an unstocked wet bar that seats 6 -8 people, the Game room that has a billiard table, the dining room that seats 18+ and the front parlor that has comfortable seating for six and a seasonal propane fireplace. In warmer seasons we have a patio and several porches with a variety of comfortable seating and tables with chairs for games or meals. Best Regards Chuck - the innkepper

do they allow small dogs?
We do allow dogs as long as they are not barkers. The inn is an older home and sound carries so therefore the concern. The raspberry bramble and willow room are dog friendly. There is a $25 charge per night for the addition of the dog. Please specify on your online reservation if you plan to bring your treasure. Chuck - the innkeeper

I don't quite understand your question as the owner of the B&B. The room has a private bath, queen sized bed, flat screen tv with DVD player and a clock radio. Every stay has a full cooked to order breakfast included. This room is off the upstairs porch with access to the upstairs porch but the entrance is from the inside of the inn. I hope this answers your question. You can always call at 518 263 5025 if you need further information. Thanks for your inquiry. Chuck The innkeeper

"We stayed in the Opal Room which we found beautiful and very cozy. We could see the mountains from our windows."
"Do not stay here period. But if you choose to stay, don't stay in a front room. You will hear the traffic all night long."
"Check out a room that isn't right in the front of the house because of the street noise"
"The Opal Room was perfect for a family of three."
