A restored turn of the century inn with tavern and restaurant. Situated on Fourth Lake in Inlet with amazing Adirondack views. This is an award - winning historic property we designed to be a true Adirondack experience. The decor is meant to be campy shabby - chic. While we have added the modern conveniences that we think were lacking in the past century, we have tried to create a less stressful mountain environment that brings back another time.

A nice and reasonably priced place to stay without all the amenities (no tv, ac). Room over the bar was quite loud into the night. Very nice waterfront area with docs and adirondack chairs. Beautiful views.

The view from the back porch of the lake was amazing especially at sunset. You can walk right down to the dock and sit and watch the boats go by. The rooms are ok....no elevator....so 1 flight up to the lobby and 1 flight up to your room....

Kind of a want to be hotel. Mattresses are slanted in the wrong direction. Uncontrollable heat in your room. Not to much quality here for what you paid for. Very thin wall so you will hear your neighbor Snoring and so on.

I’m sorry you didn’t enjoy our 1894 inn at 30% off, of the regular rate, (off season). We work with folks that bring any concerns to our attention during their stay to immediately try and correct them. As the last remaining inn from the 1800’s we cater to folks looking for a relaxing rustic Adirondack get away. Perhaps accommodations in the city would be a better fit.

We are frequent guests at the Woods Inn. We first stopped years ago for a meal while traveling the Fulton Chain. After a nice meal, we toured the grounds and fell in love with the Adirondack chairs and the fantastic view of Fourth Lake. We stayed the following year for 3 days.

Our handicap accessible room is off the parking area at the front of the inn. The game room and tavern are also accessible from the parking area. The restaurant is accessible from the handicap driveway ramp on the right side of the inn.

Karen, Currently I do not have pictures of the rooms that I forward, I do have pictures of some rooms, but have not transferred. To my knowledge, the hotel has 2 private balconies. I would suggest going to the website for detailed descriptions, It has accurate pictures. I cannot say regarding the booking policies of the hotel. I did not have any issue at the time that I placed my stay. But I will add that they are going under new management and offer that these issues will most likely be handled in the best manor. I hope that I have answered some of your questions

"Choose one with a lake view. Sunsets from the porch or Adirondack chairs can be most memorable"
"Ask for a soft bed!"
"Rooms with lake views are nice, but the mattresses are so hard, you won't sleep anyway."
"street traffic can be heard all over. the nice lake waves don't really drown it out."
"Consider top floor to avoid noise from those walking above- but heed that top floors may get warmer in summer with no A/C."
