This was my second visit to the Hound and Hare, which was so memorable twenty years ago that I came back upon my return to Ithaca this year. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have decided to book for next year and make this an annual get-away. The home is elegant, charming, and quite beautiful inside and out,...

Scrambling for reservations for Cornell's graduation weekend, we lucked into getting rooms at this wonderful Inn because of a cancellation, and could not have wished for more. The Inn itself is beautiful, immaculate, cozy, and comfortable. We were taken care of from the moment we stepped up to the front door, with a welcome note pinned to the wreath, The...

My family and I had such a wonderful experience at The Hound and Hare this weekend. We were staying for my sister's Cornell graduation and were so thankful to be able to come back and relax at the inn. After graduation events, we would spend every afternoon on the gorgeous backyard patio drinking wine and eating cheese. It was the...

I was in awe of the entire experience. First, the house grounds are impeccable, easy to find, and so close to Cornell and all the local experiences. The layout is perfect. Downstairs is a parlor and separately enclosed room with TV and Wi-Fi just in case you want to stay up and watch or play games. Each room is magnificent...

I had hoped to find myself closer to town and the Cornell campus, but this deception was soon compensated and totally erased by the beautiful house, the charming room, the comfortable and large bathroom, and the excellent breakfasts (thanks for the special attention given to my particular diet!). And since the hostess drove me once to town, the distance even...

I keep coming back to the Hound and Hare, because it is just so wonderful. I've slept in three of the four bedrooms, and they are each a unique, marvelous experience. The proprietor is sweet and gracious, just as gracious as she could be, and a terrific cook. Every breakfast I've had there has been a wonderful treat. The whole...

Staying at the Hound and Hare was one of the nicest B&B experiences I've ever had. The proprietor is extraordinarily gracious and hospitable, and her breakfasts were absolutely delicious. The rooms I saw were all beautifully appointed, and the beds I've slept in (I keep coming back!) were perhaps the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The Hound and Hare...

Decor was plush, but had a 70's feel. Do you hear Holly Hobby? Personalized breakfast menu in accordance with the whim of the hostess, with no real options. Nice looking out at the specialty birds having their breakfast above the back porch. The bill was presented quite formally. Really didn't feel a "home away from home".

“As noted above, if you want the Vanessa or Christina but not both, ask to make sure you don't get both! Christina has lots of windows and great view of garden as well as lots of toys kids might find interesting.”

“The three upstairs bedrooms have it all. We stayed in the ensuite for two (half-way up her heavily carpeted stairs): quiet, super comfortable, delightfully decorated, and has both a roomy closet and a roomy well-designed bathroom. We also saw Zetta's two-room suite, which appeared ideal for a family of four.”

“If you are traveling as a couple, the Valerie and Victoria suites are perfect. If you are traveling with children, with children, there is an option of a two-room suite, with a queen size bed in the main room, the Vanessa, and two twins in the connecting Christina room, and this arrangement provides you with two full bathrooms.”
