We were the only guests in the hotel probably due to the lack of tourists in Bahar Dar at the time ( a month ago) so it was very strange to eat alone in the big restaurant and not have anyone to chat with nor see another face. The room was charming and the location and grounds good, although it...

stayed 2 nights in order to see the Meskel celebration and to visit some of the monasterys on Lake Tana. Lovely location beside the lake. Ask for second floor rooms as if it rains hard water can come in to lower rooms. Staff very nice. Evening meal better than breakfast - limited choices but nicely presented. the ice cream is...

The room was nice and the ambiance was extraordinary however the facility could use someone mindful attention of facility maintenance. At $200 per night not having hot water the day of arrival and the morning after was frustrating. The exterior lighting to the second floor room was not working which made traversing exterior stairs in the dark very dangerous. This...

Situated right on Lake Tana we entered a high, wide staircase to our very spacious room. A bit like staying in an elevated cave with all its stonework, we had superb views over the pool, grounds and lake. The enormous balcony was festooned with a thick canopy of vegetation making it feel very private.I loved the huge daybed, also lounge...

The hotel's location on the lake is fantastic. The rooms (en-suite) are spacious and well-equipped with four-poster beds and furnished in traditional style, mine had a wonderful little shaded terrace with sunbed, some have balconies. The food was ok, but wine by the glass presented a great difficulty as the barman was not prepared to open a new bottle and...

After a long day we went to Kuriftu Spa for a massage. Wow, it was such a treat. My hour long Swedish massage was great... wasn't expecting much because some of the past reviews claim the massages weren't great but mine was fantastic. Highly recommended, especially considering a massage cost only $15.

We had a 4 day retreat here which went very well. It's a lovely lakeside setting. Rooms are large. Conference rooms were well appointed. Staff were very helpful. Wifi was patchy but we could generally get some. Spa facilities were nice. Food & bar pretty good. Would definitely return

Beautiful location on Lake Tana. The rooms are large with four poster beds and huge balconies with an area to relax and light a fire. However the decor is dated and some fittings such as taps need replacing or fixing. I stayed in April and July 2016. In July I didn’t have hot water for my shower. In April I...
