We have visited this hotel many times over the years and have seen tourism sadly deplete due to false perceptions of e bola and political issues beyond the control of the hotel. The hotel was beginning to look tired. The gardens remain magnificent with a wonderful array of bird and animal life. The staff is fantastic and service great. The...

Although we haven't stayed here for a couple of years we have been calling in for lunch during our recent holiday in Kololi .... I can really recommend the hotel for lunch by the pool. The staff are great, the food excellent for pool bar food and the price incredibly reasonable. We loved the large draft Julbrew in iced glasses...

Travel with Gambia Experience and stay at the Kairaba hotel you will not regret it. Yes it is a little bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. Just remember that it is not the ranking of five star as in England for which you will pay an extortionate amount of money, you are in a third world...

We Stayed at the Kairaba which is well located at the bottom of the 'Senegambia Strip' for 4 nights due to being evacuated from The Gambia during the political crisis. We upgraded to a superior deluxe room (320) from a standard room and were more than happy with our room. Comfortable and spacious if a little dated with fridge, safe,...

We came back from the Kairaba a few days ago, having previously stayed there on a couple of occasions. Although a little shabby, I was pleased to see that all that makes the hotel special is still in place - beautiful tranquil gardens complete with peacocks and monkeys, clean quiet rooms, excellent friendly staff. Our visit did however coincide with...

Spent three weeks at the Kairaba over Christmas and new year. This must be about our 15th stay here over the last twenty years and we still think it's the best hotel in Gambia. The rooms are ready for a bit of a refurb but didn't spoil our holiday at all. The grounds are beautiful with many different birds to...

Just got back from a week at the Kairaba, including two days as two of the last eight guests left after everyone else was evacuated on Wednesday. The wonderful staff just kept on going, and we felt touched and honoured to be so well looked after during a tense time. I'd have to disagree with some of the comments below...

Enjoyed my brief stay at the kairaba. Deluxe room was very comfortable,if not a little tired! Breakfast was pretty good, although maybe a little more fresh fruit would have been a bonus! Staff throughout out we're excellent! Grounds we're kept to a high standard and the pool and bar areas fantastic! We loved happy hour with a fabulous entertaining Gambian band!...

The staff at this hotel were very welcoming. We moved from a standard room to a deluxe which was bigger and in a better position. Our room was always clean and the staff could not do enough for us. It was my birthday during the trip and the staff made a huge fuss of me. We had gifts delivered to...

Not quite,my reason why ... upon arrival at the hotel and despite 5 emails and a request from Thomas cook for room 710 ( the reason was it was our anniversary and we had that room last year) I was told that the room had been allocated to someone else we asked if anything could be done to free it...
