The bungalow we stayed in was unfortunately very old and simple furnished. The lodge employs a very good Cook. The food was always very tasty. There is a relaxed atmoshere and the Team is very helpful.

Memorable stay on the river. Recommend a sun down boat trip. Dinner was great and the chef was able to accommodate our vegetarian dietary requirements. Facilities were comfortable and well managed and the staff really made us feel welcome.

We had a very bad experience at check in. After making our booking already in February, we were informed that the campsite we booked was not available when we checked in. This was not communicated with a Us beforehand in any way. We were moved to a much smaller site (we were a company of 9 people in two vehicles and trailers), futher from the ablution blocks and without any river view. After complaining, we were told to share the originally booked site with another family. We are extremely unhappy with the way this was handled and the owner, Ralph's, attitude Would not recommend this lodge to campers.

This was our third stop on our tour of northern Namibia. Upon arrival we were greeted by our very gracious/Gregorius host/owner,Ralf, a wonderful human being, who ensures your stay at his lodge, exceeds all your expectations! We were fortunate enough to stay in. I believe they call it, Riverside, one, which is essentially a houseboat on the Kavango River, with a nice wraparound porch, big deck, overlooking the river, and just on the other side of the fence, protecting us from them, a wonderful, wonderful bloat of hippos! we enjoyed their company (both the hippos, guests, and especially Ralph of his staff) throughout our brief three days stay here at Ndhovu, and wish we could’ve stayed that much longer! We enjoyed two tours with their wonderful tour guides, Rasmus and Boniface, and could not recommend them highly enough. If you do only one Tour here, though, my suggestion would be to visit the opposite side of the river in Buffalo Park, part of the Bwabwata national park system. Loaded with parades of elephants, water, buffalo, zebras, antelope, you will have no shortage of enjoying AFRICA‘s wildlife! And then I mentioned the cuisine offered at this wonderful lodge? Outstanding! So if you’re planning on visiting, take a previous trip in particular, along the Congo River, look no further, you’re foolish to stay anywhere else when the Ndhovu Lodge beckons! Thank you, Ralf and staff for hosting us!…

We stayed two nights at the campsite. Beautiful location right at the river. Excellent value for money (especially comparing it to the campsites where we stayed before & after). Great food. Would always come back to this gem.

My 3-night stay on the Kavango river was wonderful. All the Ndhovu Safari Lodge staff were warm and welcoming. After weeks of adventuring, the lodge felt like coming home! I loved sitting out on the deck overlooking the waterfront. There is a spotting scope set up that guests can use to get a better view of the shore of the national park (Bwabwata NP) opposite the lodge. Even had it not been there, the view of the river and national park was incredible, as were the staff in pointing out and identifying birds and wildlife. The staff were also helpful in giving guidance about visiting neighboring Botswana, only a couple dozen kilometers away. Breakfasts and dinners were included. The family style meals were a great way to chat with other tourists and nature lovers and to both give and get advice! I stayed in one of the luxury tents, which were decorated with some great furniture, had electricity and hot water (truly a luxury after weeks in the bush), mosquito nets, warm blankets, and the bathroom was adorned with some really clever wood features and accents. The rooms were clean and bug-free! I took a couple safari tours provided by Ndhovu Safari Lodge. All the guides that I met were knowledgeable about wildlife and the area and were courteous, even to the guests with the most basic questions. Although I've spent a lot of time in the region, I wasn't bored by common knowledge animal facts -- the guides always kept things interesting and were enthusiastic about getting us opportunities for sightings that we were interested in, whether that was a specific bird species or something as comparatively common as a sable antelope! The tours were all very well priced and quite lengthy compared to other safaris. I didn't take the boat tour, but saw some guests coming back from it quite happy (and I know that the provided G&T and wine was good). Overall a great experience and I appreciated having several tour options provided by the lodge. They didn't mind if I did my own game drives and gave me advice on how to spend my time and save money to have the best experience.…

I especially loved how flexible and understanding Mr. Ralph was considering that he allowed me to change from the room I was initially booked into to the one I preferred. The atmosphere was one of humanity and oneness. Kudos to the chef, the taste of the food will live rent free in my mouth! The game drive was not so my favourite but the boat cruise was absolutely amazing considering that I have a phobia for water bit it turned out amazingly well over my fear.

The location of the lodge along the river is beautiful. The wildlife at the other side of the river is amazing: buffalo's, waterbuck, lions, hippo and lots of birds. the food was excellent. the presentation of the menu in the local language was a nice touch. The game drives were fantastic: the greatest variety of species in one day during our trip through Namibia. And the birdlife was superb. the knowledge of our guides added interesting information. We stayed three nights because of the long drive to get there, but it was well worth the trip.

Ralf and his team are constantly striving to offer guests a family atmosphere and point out animals in the park. The food presented by the chef himself was terrific! Buffalo Park game drive with Bonifatius as guide was one of the most impressive experiences during our holiday-trip, absolutely outstanding! (We saw elephants, buffalos and 4 lions)
