Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Probably one of the worst I've stayed at....... room was extremely cold even with the heater going full blast when I got into the room about 9pm. the closer you got to the heater/outside wall, the colder it was and it was -19 out. As it turns out there was a weird looking piece of panelling on wall below the heater and it when you looked closer it was a flimsy little piece of something covering a huge hole to the outside!! Any little animal or anything could have come right into the room easily not to mention, it was -19. Also the tv remote would only turn it off and on, wouldn't change channels and it was one of those cheap tv's that has no buttons at all except a power button, so you could only watch whatever channel it happened to turn on to. thank god it was only one night and when I spoke to the front desk fellow about my issues, he apologized but said the owners do not fix things anymore. Lovely. I would highly recommend they do repairs before people stay there. It is a great location just not a great place to stay at this time. I have contacted Choice Hotels and they are providing me a full refund, so on their end very good service.

This place saved our night! We spent hours on the phone trying to get place to stay for that same night, and the person at the front desk, Angela Gaetano, helped us tremendously in getting a room for that night. Everywhere else we called were just short and rude, but she was very helpful in accommodating us and keeping us updated on whether there were any openings for a room. She even let us leave an hour later at no extra cost. The room was clean, spacious, and the place was charming. Simple, but wonderful staff.

Conveniently located between saranac and lake placid main street. Great value, quiet, friendly. Large mini fridge, coffee in room and continental breakfast in main building basement includes pancakes, cereal, fruit, oatmeal, juice, English muffins. Basic but appreciated. Much cheaper option than other places during FISU games. Shower us not made for tall people, comfortable bed, Would return.

Don't come here. It's horrible. 1, The room smells terrible and room service is slow. The staff here don't speak English and get mad at you if you ask them to do room service. 2, The walls are as thin as paper. You can easily hear others opening the door, talking, watching TV and taking a shower. 3, The breakfast is cheap and almost like nothing healthy to eat. All sugar. Don't take too much. There are eyes on your hands and mouths. 4, The general manager named Shannon Scannell may scream and yell at you in front of your children no matter how old they are. She's good at defamation and slandering you and telling a lot of lies. She will kick you out on a holiday if you dare to speak to her in a loud voice. 5, The water smells weird and the inside pool is dirty. Shannon Scannell looks very like a racist. You can go if you're white.

Pretty good for what it is. It was the only hotel in the area that still had rooms at a reasonable price right before New Years. Furniture is old and basic, but clean. Nice to have a hot tub on cold, snowy nights. We were just passing through the area, but this was definitely a good home-base for doing things around Lake Placid for a day. Breakfast was fairly sparse, but Rodeways don't usually have breakfast at all, so I wasn't expecting anything.

This is the worst inn I have ever been to around the world. The room service is slow and lazy, they don't care what you need and they easily get mad at you if uou ask them to clean up the room and they may kick you out. The office woman is the rudest human I have ever met. So cruel and so evil and so unbelievable. She broke her leg or something, so she's like the poorest person and she has enough reason to curse others. She doesn't care what you think or feel. She's upset and she kicks you out of the inn immediately. She does not deserve any kindness. We're so happy we don't have to stay and see her face any more. This is the worst inn. Don't come here. 1, The walls are so thin that you can hear others talking, watching TV, taking a shower. 2, The room is dirty. There's bad smell and dirt in the carpet. If you're allergic to something, it might hurt your health as soon as you get into the room. 3, The service is terrible and horrible here. A lot of workers here don't speak English. They are rude and wild. 4, The pool is cool so I didn't visit and the water looks not clean enough.

Reasonable rate for a one night stay--rooms were clean and well-furnished--beds were comfortable--near enough to all the Olympic venues--staff was pleasant. Could have done better on the continental breakfast. We didn't use the pool. Plenty of free parking. For the price, we were very satisfied.

No real breakfast of any kind. Had pool & hot tub but hot tub was so hot I couldn't stay in for more that a few moments. Short on towels too but front deck brought some pretty quickly. Ok for the price of $114/night especially in Lake Placid. Would probably stay here again. Beds OK, some were better that others.

Travel time: 07/05/2021--07/11/2021 (6 nights) Good features: -The room and the bathroom are spacious; -a lot of parking spaces; -well connected to the main street (6-min driving); -nice staff; -fast speed internet; -reasonable price Things can be improved: -The room service is only provided every 3 days. So if your stay is less than 3 days, no house keepers will show up to make your bed. -The humidity always makes the room smell unpleasing. Overall: it's a nice hotel if you have a limited budget. When I booked the hotel, the listing prices of other similar inns are approximately 20% --100% higher than this one. You will certainly not feel impressed by this inn, but you will not get disappointed either

We stayed here during a hockey tournament in Lake Placid and we stayed here as everywhere else was already booked. Where do I start? Some positives are that the lady at the desk when we first arrived was pleasant, it was close to the Olympic Center and the room was relatively clean. The negatives were plenty. Extremely outdated. Like 70's tv show outdated. The shower would go from ice cold to (literally jumping out of the shower) scalding hot to ice cold, etc. Thin blanket had holes in it. Curtains were broken. The extra (pull over) metal lock on the door was easily opened from the outside by my 11 year old and was hanging off by screws. The fire alarm went off 5 times one day from 4 am to 7 am. The "continental breakfast" was juice and a few dry cereal options. Our toilet kept getting clogged where they said we were the problem and left the plunger in our bathroom. There were never any clean towels in the pool area unless we called the front desk. The room key cards kept deactivating. I really would not recommend this hotel.
