Looking at the photos it brings back a lot of good memories.Such a great place. Amazing times. Jinja is great place to be based to visit the Busoga region. I remember the market was excellent and there was a fella called George on the high street who had a shop renting VHS movies. He may no longer be there though ! Great country and beautiful people.
We stayed in room 9 for three nights during the Nyega Nyega festival. The room itself had a decent size double bed with net, single bed and a big day bed plus an en suite. It's very basic and quite dark. The en suite is a typical wet room - shower over the toilet and a squeedgy to clean up the excess water when you're finished. Breakfast is included Monday to Saturday. The staff just leave a bowl of boiled eggs out and a tub of chopped fruit and a loaf of bread to toast. The gardens are lovely. Wifi is very poor. Hot water showers are good. Unfortunately, on our first night, we were kept awake by the Manager, Annette, shouting at a young lady (member of staff? Daughter?) who was crying hysterically. Annette was demanding to see her phone and made her give it over while she went into her office to read it. It was, to say the least, pretty uncomfortable to witness and super unprofessional conduct. …
Busoga House is a wonderful place to stay! I arrived in Jinja alone and didn't know a thing about the town. But very quickly felt like I was home at Busoga house - It is safe, comfortable and has a friendly atmosphere. The house is clean, staff are lovely and other guests are generally very respectful of the communal space. I stayed for 6 weeks and the community the guest house provided couldn't have been better. Annette, the house manager is very kind and will do anything to make your stay comfortable. Would recommend Busoga house to anyone traveling to Jinja!
Nice, clean rooms. Good breakfast and excellent customer service. We spent two months travelling through Africa and this was certainly one of the best places we stayed. Extremely helpful staff that was always at hand to help. The rooms are okay and sufficient, nothing amazing but has everything you need.
I stayed at Busoga Trust Guest House this past summer from May through June. It was a wonderful experience. The house was always clean, the kitchen was very convenient, the rooms were comfortable, and all at an affordable price. Also, great location and not a far walk/boda away from town. Highly highly recommended!
