The famous hotel was renovated in 2022; all the rooms, part of the interior and the pool were refurbished, while retaining the spirit of the "old" Maestral. The hotel is in a great location in the depths of a pine forest, next to the beach, which guarantees peace and privacy. Punta Rata beach is a 3-minute walk away. In this architectural and design masterpiece.

Lovley hotel. Feels recently refurbished, everything is spotless with great food and fantastic service. Just a few steps away from the pebbly beach below, and a min walk from the resort centre. On arrival they switched my kids room from a double to a twin without question. The whole family loved it, would recommend and return.

We flew into split airport, picked up our hire car and drove approx 1-hour 15minutes to the hotel. Set in a wooded area this medium sized hotel built in the mid 60’s but newly renovated. The hotel has limited parking in its own carpark; however, the reception staff will find a parking spot for you. In the 10 days we there we had no problem with parking. The hotel is situated on the beach front and is about a 5–7-minute walk along the front to Brela where there are 2 supermarkets (the one at the back is much cheaper), take aways and some amazing restaurants that are not too expensive. There is a small port, at night this is a safe and a beautiful area and sometimes they have entertainment, which when we were there was amazing – BERULIA - what a fantastic group of singers. Reception: The reception staff are outstanding nothing was a problem, even when our hire car locks wouldn’t work, they offered to help. The hotel Manager was excellent; approachable, and happy to answer any questions or issues you may have. Rooms: Modern/slightly retro, spotlessly clean, comfy bed, balcony with a fantastic sea view. The bathroom has a glass wall looking into the bedroom, but don’t worry it does have a curtain for privacy! Great room on the second floor. Restaurant: Breakfast is served (not a buffet) this means everything is made fresh to order. Great breakfast and our waitresses were fantastic especially Teressa. Evening meal: We were bed and breakfast but ate at the restaurant once, and the food and service was very good. Pool Area: Although they have a NO reserve policy, this does not work and there needs to be more thought into providing more sunbathing areas and sunbeds. But if you like being on the beach, it is only a few steps down to the prom with plenty of space; if you get there early but be warned during peak season it can get very busy, but the sea is amazingly clear and the beach is immaculate. Great view and safe to swim in the sea. Overview: A great hotel set in an ideal setting, great staff and we loved it. Hardly any English which suited us. I would say this is more for couples. There are lots of places to visit, some are walking distance, some you will need a car/transport. Highly recommend.

We stayed for a week in mid September. The hotel is in a great location, just a couple of minutes down steps to the beach. The pool area was big enough with no issues getting beds even though people did reserve beds in the morning. Breakfast was a little confusing with all having to be ordered and arriving at once. The food was of good quality. I'm coeliac so good options with gf bread and muffins. Brela is a great resort, turn left or right from the steps and you'll see the most beautiful beaches and views. Highly recommend the hotel and resort

We have just returned from a 10 day break here. The hotel is in a superb location, close to a lovely beach and lots of bars and restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is spotlessly clean throughout with a spacious pool area. The bedrooms are a good size with comfortable beds and having a sea view was the icing on the cake. One of the best things about our stay was the wonderful staff, from the receptionists, housekeeping and the restaurant staff. A special mention to Sladjana Stojakovic and Teresa Seferovic who went above and beyond and are a absolute credit to the hotel.

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Brela, staying at the beautiful Hotel Maestral. It is very classy, peaceful and relaxing - perfect for couples. We were given a room upgrade to sea view (very much appreciated thankyou) and spent many relaxing hours taking in the amazing view. It was especially nice to have comfortable armchairs on the balcony - a huge improvement on the usual plastic ones! The hotel was very clean and tastefully decorated in a modern style. We loved the amazing staircase! We had a very comfortable bed and a good sized room and bathroom. Although we usually enjoy a buffet style breakfast, the menu was varied and the staff informed us on our first morning that we could order as much as we could eat! Everything was delicious and it was actually a really nice change being waited on by the very attentive and polite staff (especially Tereza who made us feel very welcome) and eating in such beautiful surroundings. We loved the location - two minutes walk to the sea and the promenade goes on for miles. Our favourite walk was when turning right out of the hotel - just stunning views! A nice surprise was that the water in Croatia is very good quality and safe to drink - no struggling back from the supermarket carrying heavy bottles of water. We went on the Hvar and Bol excursion and also got the public bus to Omis which is definitely worth seeing. From there we went on the Cetina river cruise which was amazing and incredible value at 10 euros each for one hour and twenty minutes! There was no need to book as the boats sailed quite regularly. Although the scenery in Croatia is stunning- even the airport transfer was great - we still think Brela was the best place we visited.

We stayed at Bluesun Hotel Maestral for 10 nights in August and had an incredible stay. The hotel’s location is perfect for a relaxing holiday in the sun. In easy reach of Baska Voda and Brela on foot we enjoyed exploring all that there is to offer. Newly refurbished and spotlessly clean the hotel offers a comfortable base for those wanting to explore further afield and there are numerous excursions available. Breakfast is served to you at your table and there is plenty to choose from. The staff are exceptional and will accommodate any request. As the hotel is small they get to know you during your stay. I would highly recommend this as a fantastic place to stay.

Absolutely unforgettable! When you drive 9 hours from Zagreb to arrive at Bluesun Hotels & Resorts - Croatia destination based on false information twice provided by the hotel and to realize this is not what you booked and paid for, so you have to stop your completely ruined vacation and drive back home without having the opportunity even to properly swim. Really one-off memory preventing you from considering anything with Bluesun name ever again! We were looking for a location for a vacation with a pet, and after searching the Internet, we became interested in the Bluesun hotel Maestral in Brela. We were interested not only in the possibility of the dog staying in the hotel, but also in the possibility of him swimming in the sea with us. In the reservation center, we were told by phone that there are some beaches where dogs are allowed, but they don't know exactly how far they are from the hotel. Therefore, I called the hotel directly and received information that we can bathe with our dog anywhere, and based on this information, we made the reservation. Arriving at the hotel, I immediately repeated the same question during the check-in, noting that I wanted to avoid potential inconveniences. At that moment, there were 3 people in the hotel's official clothes at the reception and they repeated to me the claim that we can bathe with the dog anywhere. As we arrived at the hotel before dinner, due to traffic jams, we didn't go swimming until the next day and immediately experienced a series of inconveniences. While putting towels on the beach directly below the hotel, the sunbed renter (that's how he introduced himself) approached us and warned us that we shouldn't be here with the dog. Most of the people from the beach looked at us sideways, which made us extremely uncomfortable, and one lady, in an unpleasant tone, also drew our attention to the fact that there was a prominent prohibition sign. Indeed, there is a no-dogs sign on the beach, directly below our hotel. We went back to the reception and asked for clarification, but now there was another person behind the desk who confirmed that dogs are not allowed on the beach and that she was sorry we didn't know that. She suggested that we talk to the hotel manager next morning. The same evening, I called the reservation center again, where I was also told to call in the morning because there is no longer a responsible person available. Immediately in the morning, we had a meeting with the hotel manager, who apologized and, like the lady the previous evening, suggested possible beaches for swimming with a dog, but which are also not completely legal for that. The only definitely legal beach for a dog is Stomarica, which is too far away for it to make sense, especially for us, whose explicit selection criterion was proximity to the hotel. I must emphasize that the possibility of swimming together in the sea with our pet and the proximity of the beach to the hotel were the key criteria for choosing this particular hotel, and that we were misled to chose this location based on incorrect information. Not only that, but because of the same misinformation, we were unnecessarily in unpleasant and conflicting situations with other tourists, mistakenly believing that we were right. The option of leaving the dog alone in the room while we go swimming is not allowed by the hotel's house rules and is punishable by a fine, and that's not how we wanted to spend our vacation anyway. Since there was no quality solution on the horizon, we decided to prematurely end our summer vacation and return home. On the way back, we received a call from the reservation center where the caller only stated the factual situation with the conclusion that he was sorry and that he did not know what could be done. For "consolation", the extra payment for our dog's stay in the hotel was waived on our bill, which the caller proudly pointed out as "gratis" as a sign of apology (merely 50 EUR). I can't describe how disappointed and bitter we are that our vacation was ruined like this and that after all that, the only thing we got in return was that the staff were sorry and that we were "generously gifted" a pet's stay at the hotel. Our entire stay lasted two nights, and my entire swim in the sea this year took less than two minutes, which is just what it took to take our towels and leave the beach out of shame and embarrassment because of the people around us.

Most pleasant surprise. Beautiful surroundings, nicely refurbished ‘60s hotel, plenty of friendly staff, very good meals, served a la carte, quiet atmosphere, big rooms, excellent beds, large balcony with seaview. The only drawback: no ice cream available at the pool bar!

We came here for just under a week to finish our longer trip to Croatia and relax. Here’s my honest review having stayed at other places within the country: Good: - Newly refurbished and it genuinely beautiful inside and out. Top quality decor, spacious and has a top class feel - Secluded area away from the very very busy beach below - We were able to check out 1.5hrs later - Super comfy beds and spacious shower with great sea views - Great gym kit Not so good: - The hotel room doors slam shut so loud it rocks the hotel. No exaggerating, it’ll wake you up in the late night and early morning hours from others down the hall - Quality of food isn’t great and severely overpriced - I was even CHARGED for some mayonnaise on the side of my already paid main meal… can you believe the cheek? I was really shocked at this. - I also paid well over 20€ for a pasta dish which came out within minutes of ordering, cold. The staff didn’t mind. It was also just 4 pieces of ravioli - In general, the staff seem very unprepared and unbothered by anything. During my whole stay I can say that the only friendly and attentive staff member we met was a short lady with a black/dark hair pony tail sometimes at the bar by the pool in the afternoon (amazing). She worked hard when on shift and didn’t sit around on her phone pretending to be busy. Other times we were faced with people saying ‘we’re too busy’ - You’ll find guests here reserving sun beds in the morning (which are already scarse) and not returning until the late afternoon. Staff don’t seem to care even though many other guests couldn’t use any - Kids (surprisingly) playing in the pool with toys. Again, not a relaxing vibe and staff don’t seem to care - I had glass in my feet on two occasions by the pool. Seemingly the floor isn’t sweeped daily - Charging to park your car when there is not any other option to easily get here is not a premium experience you expect from a hotel like this - Breakfast is too slow. You have to wait at your table to order from a menu, even though the food out the back is already prepared. - Many drinks advertised in the menu couldn’t be made due to missing simple ingredients. If you order food with missing ingredients, don’t expect to be told about it. You’ll just get what you’re given Overall, I’m not sure I would stay here again simply due to the service. It wasn’t what I was expecting for a premium price.

Lovely hotel, literally on the beach with stunning views, air conditioning was great in the room. Such a nice location, pool was reasonably quiet although the usual putting towels down at 7am was an issue. Beware quite a few steps down to beach not an issue for us though, would highly recommend the hotel and resort. Will be going back
