We stayed at the resort in February 2017. When we first got there it appeared to be a very big resort and I wondered what it would be like. It was large but the different restaurants and pools as well as the beach meant that you didn't feel on top of anyone at any particular time. Best points - very...

Flight cramped and delayed an hour, wait at passports not too long. Remember you have to pay €2 per adult per day at check in to hotel. Bring euros with you, which you can change into Cape Verde Escudos but everywhere takes euros. No problem with visa entry done online through Thomson. Hotel about 20 mins max, so may be...

Lovely location facing west so out of the strong easterly winds. Plenty of available sunbeds around the pool and my 9 year old Grandson had a great time in the pool. Good restaurants and food choice. Rooms were spacious and clean.

We stayed at Tortuga for a week, and all in all the stay was great. The hotel area is very nice and clean, good rooms, nice pool areas and just at the beach to see the sunset. We had read postive comments about the food, and it is ok. But if you hope to eat a fantastic dinner, you will...

My daughter and I chose this hotel for the half term break. It is a smaller hotel than the others on the island on a large beach and definitely a good choice. The flight over was cramped and boring, the food was terrible, (but we knew that from previous reviews and had brought sandwiches with us). We had done our...

Stayed at this hotel 2yrs ago so decided to come back. Was very disappointed with the apartment the rug was very old and dirty the net curtains were stained and the rooms tired . The food had gone down hill and service in the a la cart restaurants was slow and poor. Alot of the staff didn't seem happy. Would...

The resort is big, but still feels somewhat cosy. Plenty of choice in food/ restaurants and decent quality of it. The beach is nice and situated close to the village of Santa Maria with its shops and restaurants. Tortuga is situated near one of the most beautiful beaches, ponta preta. All together a great place to enjoy a lazy holiday.

My partner and I travelled with my daughter and her three children ages 12,10 and a 6 month old baby to Cape Verde hoping for some winter sunshine without a very long flight. We stayed at the Tortuga Beach Resort and Spa. We travelled from Gatwick. Experience at Gatwick pretty typical but they do manage pushchairs and babies efficiently so...

Despite some reader reservations about the arrival on Sal, ours was not bad after waiting for 15 minutes for the previous plane load of holiday makers to clear customs, especially as we got out of the baggage lounge before them. We arrived at the hotel before the 3pm check-in time and were told to enjoy the buffet lunch while we...

This is the third time we have visited this resort. The venue remains unspoilt and the apartments are excellent. Sadly over the years the food quality has deteriorated to the point that it is so bland but also clearly recycled. My husband and many other guests we spoke to were struck down with D&V. Such a shame that such an...
