"This Is Africa"! So don't expect European standards. I'll start with the possibly negative things: - Santiago or Cape Verde at all is quite poor, and has not much infrastructure. Some of the rocky roads in Tarafal are lighted, but not all. Restaurants have not always "everything". - King Fisher is above local standard, but still basic - we saw...

It is the best hotel in Tarrafal (the only sandy beach in Santiago) but it is not the top of the pops hotel. The hotel has a rock spot for swimming, which is nice and sunny. Great for snorkeling. The rooms do not have black out courtins, so the sun comes in very early. It is very nice to hear...

The room was clean and although we hadn't booked one it was self catering. Should we have wanted to we could have cooked and there was also a small table top fridge. We had a roof terrace which was accessed by going out of the room and up a separate flight of stairs. Their were views towards the sea however...

The resort itself is nice but serious attitude problem from the german manager (owner?). She just didn't seem to care at all. Security staff was very nice and helpful when inquired about directions or other information. The dive was fine - how can someone be unpleasant underwater and lovely above the surface? The divemaster was so nice to talk to...

Wonderful accommodation on the perfect spot! We stayed at Coqueiro (2 double rooms, kitchen, bath and a lovely terrace. No barbeque but Pedro (receptionist) provided one! Very well equipped; nothing was missing. No air conditionning but room fans provide some fresh air. We decided to cook our own meals and loved to go to the market and local shops. If...

A good apartment - name grotto. Two separate beedrooms and a wonderful balcony. The reason why its only gets two stars is: a terrible bad cleaing of the apartment. The frezzer, the sink and the toilet did not work okay. If the management had fixed this it would have been a four star.

The most terrible experience is not enough to express the nightmare that I was involved. The breakfast is with bees. The bedroom and bathroom with thousands of mosquitoes. No solution to prevent the mosquitoes from being in your bedroom. Disrespectful and completely unjustifiable attitudes from the manager that runs the hotel.

Georg has a great thing going here where the diveshop is part of the hotel. I went for two lovely dives, essentially right underneath the hotel. This is a lovely area, and the combination of scuba and your own private bay is just too wonderful for words.

I've stayed here with my family for 2 weeks around Christmas and NYE. I'm not sure if the word resort is the right name, I would consider King Fisher as a hotel/appartment complex. First week we stayed at the Grotto, a beautifull appartment overviewing the bay. The terrace is really nice (all day long sunny). Right underneath the terrace is...

This is a Paradise in Tarrafal. We had 2 sharing apartments with a great terrace overlooking the sea with sundowner. Very big and very nice. Very nice German man who runs the resort. Lots of restaurants in the village, especially the Spanish one. Again!!!!
