Maneaters Lodge is a gem set along the Tsavo River, in the Tsavo East National Park. With every room with a river view, you will be assured to sleep to the soothing sounds of water poetry. Having the lodge alongside a water source ensures plenty of game, if fact we were lucky to see, giraffe, buffalo, and elephants at midday.... More

If you're expecting 5 star modern luxury, then this place isn't for you, but if you like a natural setting, friendly staff and the odd zebra on your porch, then you'll love it. It's a fairly basic tent, but has an inside flushing toilet & shower, but electricity is only on at certain times. Each tent has a private porch... More

We stopped at this lodge on the way down to the coast. There were only 4 other guests, with none expected the day weft. We were put in a tent next to the other guests, despite the fact there were so many empty tents. Our tent had rubbish outside it in the bush. Some of the staff (Rosemary, Donald and... More

Our visit to Man Eaters was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay. The setting is unique, along the river. A very relaxing, peaceful getaway. Would definitely go back! It is exciting to learn of the history of the name, "Man Eaters" , as well!

Just two km off the main Nairobi Mombasa highway, almost exactly half way, and with traffic as it is these day on this road, it was a welcome relief! Also value for money! This Tented camp although outside the park, is only a ten minute drive to either Tsavo West or East Gates. I stayed with the family my wife,... More

in Maneaters we've stayed quite a few times. Staff is always very friendly, the accommodation is just as you expect it to be in the bush. Clean, spacious and with your own veranda overlooking the river. Food is excellent and there's a nice choice of wines and almost all the beverages you can think of. Zebra's roam the camp and... Stopped for lunch and show round . Very impressed by location -- idyllic and facilities first rate . Well planned and with a good little pictorial history of the railway construction and the famed Man Eaters of Tsavo. Will definitely stay over next time to ample the peace and quiet of this excellent camp

We loved this lodge, beatifully located by Tzavo River. It's a good alternative to staying at lodges inside Tzavo national parks. Or just stop by to relax on your way to/from Nairobi or Mombasa. Well maintained, beautiful accomodation in luxury tents, great food. Wished we had stopped there for more that 1 night. Well worth a visit!
