We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The breakfast on the balcony was delightful. The rooms were beautiful and such great access to the town. There were many restaurants within walking distance for yummy food! Highly recommend!
You cannot beat the warmth and hospitality of Demitria and Tarkis. They meet you at breakfast with extremely tasty, hearty meals, made to your order (most days we skipped lunch). The added vegetables and fresh fruit were there as well. As soon as your shuttle brings you to the perimeter of Oia, an escort takes your bags, while charming Demetria escorts you to the hotel and room. The only distraction is the front row view of the caldera as it glistens in the sunlight. It is on the path of one of the most photographed points in Oia...so every time to see wedding, engagement, anniversary photos on any social media of Oia, you will see your room. Extremely well situated in the old part but very close to the new part of Oia. The evenings are perfect with the cool breezes and shiny shop lights when you stroll after a wonderful dinner with walking distance everywhere.…
Just returned from a fantastic trip to Oia at the Sea Captain’s house. The owner of the hotel, Takis, is responsive and genuinely cares that you enjoy your stay. He checked with us each morning to make sure that we had everything we wanted and was full of suggestions for things for us to do. The property is small, with just a few rooms, and is very well located, just 20 steps off the main path where most of the shops and restaurants are located. The pedestrian path outside the hotel is busy, but you will soon see why - the hotel is located in a perfect place for photos! We enjoyed sitting outside and watching the numerous wedding pics talking place, and still felt like we were in a private setting. We stayed in the Venetian Suite. Antique furniture and a beautiful big bed. The bathroom was large and had character - although having a shower was a little more difficult without making a mess, as there was no shower curtain or door. However, we both enjoyed having a bath instead for the few days we were there. We had to depart very early in the morning on the final day, and Takis organised the porter to come and collect our luggage and the car to take us to the airport. We would definitely stay there again. This is a fantastic compromise between the larger hotels which can be expensive and Airbnb style accommodation (which I have stayed in before in Oia). And the position really is perfect (tough to find somewhere as central as this in Oia). …
Perfect location along the caldera path in Oia. Clean room, comfy bed, complimentary coffee, water and juice. Breakfast was ridiculously tasty and Takis is a gracious and fantastic host. Airport transfer was easy and efficient. Lovely view from the balcony!
We loved our stay at the Captain's Suite!! From being picked up at the airport, to having an escort carry our bags from the point where the taxi couldn't enter and directly to the front door of the Captain's House, about a five minute walk. The suite is gorgeous, spacious, immaculately clean with antique furniture. Same goes for the modern large bathrooms!!!! The suite had all the amenities you could ever want and was so quiet considering the location. Breakfast was DELICIOUS with fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, breads, fresh squeezed orange juice, coffee, eggs cooked any style to order....so plentiful we could not finish it all!. The house has gorgeous caldera views and is located so close to the main shopping street. It was quite entertaining seeing all the tourists, weddings, engagement photo taking right outside our suite. Takis, the hotel manager was so accommodating and gave us excellent advice. We highly recommend staying in the Captain's House!!!…
