Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

107. This is the number of steps between the hotel entrance and our room. Roughly the climb one would find in a five-story building, except you go down to your room instead of up. Since this is not mentioned on the hotel website I wanted to put it up front. The staff on-site were very helpful and friendly and the service was very good. Breakfast overlooking the caldera was beautiful. Our room was tended every day, but the light fixtures in the room all gave rather cold light, which gave the room a bit of a cheap, youth hostel feeling at night. The room options we were given by Bedsonline included "Twin Standard" which was what we reserved. When we got to the room, however, we found we had been given a double room. The hotel had no interest in correcting this mistake, either by re-making our bed or changing our room. We were told that the rooms are listed as "Twin or Double Standard", with option to be as determined by the hotel. This was not the choice that was presented to us. Although the staff were friendly, as I said, the hotel management was not. After first making our reservation I learned about all the stairs thru on-line forums. Since we are about 70 years old and have knee problems I requested a room with fewer stairs, even if we had to pay more. Our travel agent was told this could be accommodated, but when we arrived it had not been done. We were given a double room, not a twin, at the bottom of the stairs. Hotel response was, "Sorry, but we are fully booked." When my agent called the manager about this the manager chose to insult her rather than admit a mistake by the hotel. Bottom line: Beautiful location, good service, unresponsive management, facilities misrepresented.

First is the beautiful view. You can't beat it. The rooms were all wonderful. We stayed in room 25 which was like a cave room - very cool. We watched the sunset every night on the balcony area. We bought wine at the local store and enjoyed the sunset. The staff was wonderful and very helpful when we needed ice for our drinks. Rooms were cleaned daily. Breakfast (which was included) was very simple (eggs/breads/yogurt/meat and cheese). The one warning is you better be ready for steps. From our room,it was 107 steps to the top... I would definitely stay here again.

I booked and paid for my visit in full in June. I came to Santorini in July. I showed up to the hotel and they claimed to not have my name. So I showed them that they themselves and booking.com confirmed my stay. I had my confirmation and PIN number. I also already got charged by the hotel Kavalari and showed proof of the transaction. They told me they cancelled me, refused to refund me and essentially left me stranded. Also I paid a car to take me to this hotel $40… so wasted more money. Ended up finding a way better hotel with a better view that treated me like a queen. Booking.com and my bank have been notified and are investigating.

Very bad stay. Faced three issues a) Photos of the rooms provided do not match the actual room b) room provided had leakages and damaged walls c) worst of all, there were too many cockroaches in the room. It was a total nightmare to stay at the property. Alternative provided was not feasible given that it had 2 separate beds. After issue of cockroaches, another alternative was provided but by that time my wife fell sick of horror and it was not possible to shift in suck feverish and sick condition.

Amazing hotel right in the middle of the town Fira. Great rates, views, complementary breakfast and drinks! Front desk lady was so friendly, helping us figure out how to book excursions. If you stay in Fira I highly recommend checking this place out. Loved our 3 night stay.

We had a wonderful two night stay at this hotel with an unbelievable view if the caldera. Rooms are simply but well furnished and spotless. We had a wonderful terrace to ourselves with breathtaking views. Breakfast (included) was delicious. The staff were knowledgeable and very helpful in arranging for tors and restaurant reservations. The hotel is central to almost everything you might want to do in Fira yet was surprisingly quiet. Great value for the price.

Really nice accommodation with spectacular sunset views. Room was basic but very clean and has what you need. Short walk to everything in Fira, including the bus station which is less than 5 mins. All the Hotel staff are amazing, breakfast is served daily with a stunning view. Alexandra was super helpful organizing transfers, storing our luggage and even printed our ferry tickets for us. Thanks for a wonderful 4 night stay.

The hotel by itself is post card scene. Staff is awesome, friendly and helpful. Location is the best you can get for the view and the beautiful Thira’s cobblestone streets. Breakfast is simple but well prepared.

The view was outstanding, our room was lovely and clean, big double bed which was really comfortable, the staff were lovely and really helpful. For the location as well I think this hotel is really good value for money! We had a shared terrace with our room and watched the sunset a few times from the terrace. We had breakfast included which was a spread of bread, little pastry triangles with cheese, fresh fruit, greek yogurt etc it was great :) Loved it and hope to visit again one day.
