We arrived as the sun was rising, and yet were met by the smiling face and warm disposition of Stavros at the airport. We were absolutely exhausted & since we had only booked for that evening & the night after, & check-in being in the early afternoon, Stavros really didn't need to go out of his way to help us with our exhaustion! Yet he did. Since the rooms were still occupied at 6 in the morning (!) he arranged the lounge chairs next to the pool for my friend & I, complete with blankets & pillows, where we proceeded to catch up on some sleep for the next few hours. It was such a warm welcome to Santorini, exactly what you need when you haven't slept the night before..! Surprisingly comfortable :) And what a view to fall asleep to!!!

The room we had was large, on two levels, with an incredible view out over the Aegean. For me, this represented excellent value for money. To have such a view elsewhere on the island, you'll pay a fair amount more. I'm not sure if all the rooms have such views, so we may have completely lucked out :) We had a fridge, couch, table etc; it was absolutely fantastic. Clean, comfortable, cleaned daily & although the breakfast was simply continental, that coffee was delicious! Oh my gosh, I've been dreaming about it ever since... Breakfast was an extra €5 per day. If you like bread, marmalade, coffee & juice then I'd recommend it. The coffee alone made it so worth it for me, I'm so fussy with coffee!

We liked the little walk into town, walking is a given when travelling and a 5-10 minute walk is nothing...well, at least that's my opinion! We went to Mamma's House for some lunch - delicious & I'd recommend it! It was recommended by the team at our hotel :) Great advice.

You can catch buses to all of the main locations. If you have a few days on the island, at least, I'd recommend doing town for a day & hiring a powerful scooter or quad for the rest. Buses are fine, but there is wait time & if you're impatient like me, then you'll prefer to do things when & how you want to! You can get a quad bike to share for around €25/day for a 150cc, less per day if hiring for a longer time than we did maybe. Stavros will help organise this for you.

We quad biked to Oia, several beaches & of course all the parts of Santorini that you see in books & online...What a breathtaking island. Great bakery on the way to Red Beach, stop & get stock! It's on a corner, large, wish I could remember the name!! I liked Red Beach...so cute! Great views, lovely water, quite a few people there but who cares?! There's a rock you can swim out to which we jumped off repeatedly. Lots of fun! :)

Oia for sunset...yes, it's beautiful. Funnily, I found watching the sunset with hundreds of other appreciators very cool... I don't think I've ever appreciated a sunset with so many other people in my life! I took a photo of the people watching, & it looks awesome! There was even a round of applause once it had set, another first, made me laugh a lot!

Oia is a great spot, we had a lovely dinner there. It's a reasonable distance, maybe 20-25 minutes by quad from memory; dress warm if you plan to have dinner after sunset - we were chilly on the ride home to Fira!

I recommend staying at Anemomilos Suites, it was so ideal for what we wanted. Close to the main town, a ride to everywhere we wanted to go, relaxing when we didn't want to go anywhere & just needed down time! The bus isn't far away if you prefer to save on getting a car or bike, & if you have more time on your hands than we did.

We got dropped off at the port by Stavros too, & we were running late to meet him & he should have rightfully been annoyed to be honest. Again, he was nothing but lovely. We went further to Mykonos...another stunningly beautiful island of Greece!

I can't say enough about staying here, I highly recommend it. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to the beautiful island of Santorini.

I loved the place. The host was very nice and gave us some tips. It is walking distance (approx. 10 - 12 min) to the main centre of the Fira village, which is strategic if you don't want to drive all the time. Comfortable, clean and with a lovely balcony with a view to the sea - somehow far, but still enjoyable. There is a pool outside with a good size, but we'd rather explore the beautiful Santorini and its beaches instead. Price was good, but we were there in second half of May - I am not sure if it can be expensive later during high season. Anyway, a place to remember!

Great location. Anemomilos Suites is with outdoor swimming pool & sun bed that you can enjoy while you stay in hotel. They provide continental breakfast for €7 per person. But if you just like to have cup of coffee, there is no charge for that. You can have coffee for free. It's located nearby Fira town centre. I would say about 5 minutes walk to Fira main bus station and 8-15 minutes to centre of Fira. Alternatively, you can walk by shortcut (donkey road). It may take you to cable car station about 10 minutes. There are few grocery shop and mini market nearby. In case you would like to grab some drinks. Hospitality is nice. And they also clean your room everyday (of course you can tell them if you don't want to). The price is affordable 👍Overall I highly recommend this hotel for people who come to Fira. 😃

We chose this place because they advertised that they were a few metres from Fira square and two minutes walk away from the caldera and volcano.

In fact they were at least 500 metres from the centre, uphill most of the way on a very busy road with no protection for pedestrians in the way of pavements. It was a nightmare for people with young children and pushchairs. Apart from heavy traffic there was the added hassle of quad bikes. Our room faced the road and the noise of traffic going up the hill was enough to prevent us from sitting on the balcony.

The room excellent, very well appointed with a very well equipped bathroom. The breakfast - served in our room - was generous and very good value. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful but were not keen to hear us out when we tackled them about their description of the location. The proprietor insisted that they were only about 300 metres from the square (hardly 'a few metres'). A hotel much closer to the centre on the same road advertised that they were 350 metres from the square!

We had been to Santorini before and knew that we needed to be in the centre and handy for the bus station and the streets leading to the caldera because my husband tires easily.

For anyone young and fit, the distance was not great. It was possible to avoid some of the traffic by walking steeply uphil and using the footpaths but that was not an option for my husband. Our stay was spoilt and it was fortunate that we had only booked in for three nights.

We pre-booked this hotel on Hotels.com and everything they say about the hotel on the website is true. Nice swimming pool with a sea-view and a large clean room with a balcony. We were met by the owner, who was very accommodating and friendly. Prices are good, especially considering the quality of the hotel and the staff. We were so lucky to be allowed to leave our luggage in the lobby after we checked out, so that we could spend the full day in Santorini without worrying about it. Even though our flight went late in the evening, they offered to drive us to the airport nonetheless.

This hotel is a good choice to stay in Fira, only few minutes walk from the bus stop.
They offer a good service (free transportation from and to the airport), the room was clean, free wifi and the owner offer us a bottle of wine, that was really good. :D
The cleaning lady was really friendly and nice with us.

I will come back to this place for sure.

Absolutely perfect for a budget holiday in santorini. The owners are lovely people, the great thing is that they give you transfers from/to the port. Rooms are decent...they make their own wine do try that....if you want to hire a bike or quadra bike make sure you do not take it from the Egyptian descent owner who is based close to animomilos, he is a cheat...try guys from fira town.....do go to perissa beach and of course oia for the sunset, take Atleast a 150cc scooter or a car to go around places in santorini, to go to the volcano you can take the ticket from animomilos itself, volcano trip can be tiring so please wear good shoes and do carry water bottle with you

A very nice hotel, located very close to city center but not crowds of tourists around the hotel. The staff pick you up at the port and drop you off, even at 2 in the morning. The pool is small but pleasant. The rooms are very pleasant, and the little porch area for eating breakfast is nice. The downside is being on the main road out of town so there were always cars and scooters going by- very loud. Also the staff weren't too helpful when we had questions about local sites and tours- they directed us to the main tour operators and didn't tell us much about other off-the-path things to do. Rather far from the beach, but oh well.

Due to bad winds we arrived in Santorini one day early and stayed an extra day, rather than the two days originally planned. We added one night to our original booking and were able to stay at both hotels. The Anemomilos Villa is an old construction with dated furniture and bathrooms. The pool is small, the breakfast is an abysmal quality and the hotel caters mostly to couples coming for a week (and going to bed late and/or drunk). There is no wifi connections from the rooms closest to router, leaving any practical use to be done from the reception area. For the two following nights we experienced a newer construction (Anemomilos suites) but unfortunately it was furnished with remaining items from the older hotel. Our room (and balcony) was at the street level on a main road of the city. When we made the remark to the person who attended us he seemed to say that we should be fine with the french doors closed. Not precisely what you want to do when you are in Greece with such fine weather. The pool was more like a giant bathtub. Wifi connection was non-existent from the room, apart from the vicinity of the reception area and the small terrace giving on the same noisy street (cars, moped, trucks.) The only positive remark I can write about our stay is about our (free) transfer to/from the port. The hotel unfortunately is what you can imagine of an island that is overrated and receives way too many tourists that will come “no matter what.” If I had to redesign our month long itinerary in the Greek islands I would stay no more than one night on Santorini, the island doesn’t deserve the attention and the money you spend on it. The mediocre at best service from the hotels we stayed at unfortunately reflects this approach to mass tourism which makes one regret the time he gets to spend in an island that is nowadays lacking of any charm.

Stavros, the proprietor of this establishment hands down has to be the most inviting person I've met; next to my grandmother of course.
This place has all the charm and quaintness of a: sleepy, non-pretentious, Bed and Breakfast in wine country somewhere.
I thoroughly enjoyed myself, talking and drinking the best wine I've ever tasted with Stavros. (He makes the wine)
Anemomlios is a 5 min walk to and from Fira. The bus station, taxi stand, shopping as well as museum is within that area aswell. Even the most easily fatigued can make the short trip.
The room is rustic and easy going. Soft beds with clean sheets always await you...and the mattress is very comfy. There is a small balcony off the side of the room which can be a bit noisy late at nite and early in the morning. But by far makes up for it; by letting in all the eastern sun and showing distant views of the Agean.
The batroom is big enough, with tiled marble on the walls and a pedestal style sink. The bathtub ( yes I said "bathtub") is very roomy. Whether you'd want to use it is up to your discretion. The only draw back is the fact that there is no actual shower head. There is instead: a standard hand held sprayer. Nothing that would be a bother to most who can figure out what to do with string, a glass of Stavros' wine, and a good imagination!
There is always information about "things to do" at the front desk. They can arrange excursions awell.
This place is definetly a steal! As you can save on taxi or bus fare from the port by asking the owners to pick you up. They are warm and very friendly, and would be more than willing.
This is a REAL place to stay, where you can tell the owners are keen on pleasing their clients. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to enjoy a nice, inexpensive place to stay in Fira.
**** Did I mention "he makes wine" ****
