Beautiful hotel and room. Staff were happy, friendly and helpful, especially when we discovered the travel agent had apparently cancelled our booking by mistake! Not a problem though - we were offered a choice of rooms and settled on one with an outside area. A definite recommendation from us👍.
Fira is very touristy when the cruise ships dock, but once down the steps onto the SMOOTH patios (not the millions of cobblestone steps of Greece), it was calm, quieter & even a bit cooler. Stacy, the manager, was very friendly & helpful. There’s nice outdoor lounge areas. Everything is kept in great condition, fresh towels out on the chairs, beach towels at their main office. The mini pool was a nice minimal design & clean. Guests were pretty respectful sharing it off & on to cool off. The former owner, an older man, uses it for exercise. Our room was tucked in at the end of the main space, facing to the pool area., with some nice shade from the old trees. The room exceeded expectations: high Italian?-like ceilings, simple wooden furniture that’s seems to have a history. I had a single unit, however the hall led down to a common area where my friend stayed on the sofa bed (wardrobe there also & 2 little sky lights). Small kitchenette with a medium fridge, sink, electric kettle, (for purchase: large bottled water, snacks, wine, more snacks in the fridge. The bathroom was pink marble & a good size, KORRES bath products!, the water pressure good although I had to play around with getting the hot water. The bathtub had jets, but either they didn’t work or I didn’t know how to turn it on. The outdoor breakfast area felt like you’re eating in a little park with 6-8 small tables & a double tent with food & drinks (Buffet). There were good options & Stacy & staff where quick to refill. Eggs (scrambled & hard boiled(in little decorative holders), mini sausages, mini croissants, rotation of spinach feta puffs & other pastries. Tangy Greek yogurt (with cereal, fruit mix, jam, honey, nuts), a platter of Greek cheese & cold cuts, fresh fruit. Coffee (SO good, very strong) & Tea station, Fresh Orange Juice. Muffins & PLEASE eat one of the little sugar donuts filled with Nutella for me! Disliked · Not sure if it’s a language issue, the night attendant wasn’t very friendly. Seemed annoyed when I asked him to help me make a dinner reservation. FYI- Directed me to Stacy, before she leaves at 6:30pm, to have her reserve a cab for the airport. Arrival- We took the bus from the Airport to the Main Depot, it’s quite a long walk to the hotel with luggage. A lot of cobblestones/stairs on a narrow European street. Google Maps sent us to the front of the hotel(so many steps), but take the Main Street(flatter) & enter from the back parking lot near Salt & Pepper Restaurant. There a nice little elevator- such a luxury! WiFi is not great at all; it’s better outside near the middle of the property, grab a chair- limit phone time anyway. PS. Greece is full of street kittens/cats! They all look healthy...& wander around the patios, the streets, & walkways.…
We loved staying here in a suite with kitchen and excellent breakfast. We enjoyed two patios and a view of the sea. Conveniently placed on the trail from Oia to Fira, we hiked 17,000 steps one day. We enjoyed several restaurants and wondering around hilly walkways, getting lost and then found our way. We rented a car and parked in public parking.
The hotel is quite but yet a stones throw away from town which is fantastic before we arrived I change our money into €100 notes to make it easy rather than carry €50 to my horror when I handed over our hotel fee the woman at the desk called Stacy put our currency into a note reader which happily took the €50 but for some unknown reason would spit out the €100 we felt very uncomfortable like she was trying to say we were trying to pass off fake currency I showed her my bank records where the money came from , she then proceeded to go into a cupboard and pulled out another €100 which her stupid machine expected to me this was a total embarrassment for me and my finance , I could have questioned her about her note machine and asked her when was the last time she actually had her machine calibrated!!!! Note @! To the wise do not go there with €100 notes…
In Santorini it is all about location - however - hotels on the caldera view are so expensive we were lucky to find this little gem. location is perfect - in the Center of Fira - steps from all the shops and fabulous restaurants- but still quiet and peaceful. there is still a view off the back of the property of the sea which is fine. We did not spend so much time in the room as you want to be out and about when in Santorini. it was a wonderful place to return to at night and sit outside in the peaceful courtyard off our Jr. suites drinking wine. Stacey - the manager - made the property extra special. She can help you with anything in Santorini - from great restaurants (ARGO being our favorite!) to buses, tours etc. she is a real asset to the property. DC is the night watchmen so to speak and can help you with anything you may need as well. the property is clean and spacious. the continental breakfast sufficient. My one complaint would be that the furniture needs to be updated. I can understand the owners wanting to keep it as original as possible however this can be done by tasteful choices on new furniture. But then again they may raise the prices if they do the upgrades. the beds were comfortable and linens very nice. I would stay here again without hesitation - but it would be nice to see some upgrades to make this a true 5 star review.…
