The Prescott House was a previouslyTB Health Care Facility that has been converted into a historical guest house. The owners have done a wonderful job in remodeling the house into delightful guest rooms. The house sits on top of a hill with a beautiful panoramic view over looking Saranac Lake village. The room is very spacious and quaint with a...

we found it tough to find a hotel under 100.00 U.S but here it is!! Reasonably price place to stay amongst a bunch of expensive hotels. Spotlessly clean and real old world charm. Motorcycle friendly and very quiet. Would return. Walking distance to a few restaurants. the history is cool too look it up!!

I stayed at the Prescott House while on internship for ten weeks. The house is quite large and beautiful, with great views. There is a pool table, ping pong table and treadmill in the basement for entertainment. My room was clean upon arrival and anytime I needed anything Steve was always helpful! I would recommend the Prescott House to anyone...

This hotel is a former TB sanitarium--the rooms are small but the building is gracious. Lovely porch to sit on morning and evening (wifi too! and we picniced). Shared bathrooms were ok but not pristinely clean. Nice neighborhood for walking in a pretty historic area, close to lake. More for romantic history lovers than for those who need full amenities,...

I was camping on the Saranac Lake chain and had a medical emergency that brought me into town unexpectedly. The whole area was booked solid and I had the good fortune to find Steve and Linda. They were friendly, accommodating and even gave me a ride to the trail head the next morning. The Prescott House was a cool, historical...

I really enjoyed staying at Steve's place in Saranac Lake. I used it as a base camp to hike the Adirondack mountains. My room was spacious, clean, quiet and accommodating with refrigerator, microwave, TV - Cable, and Internet. What more could I have asked for? The weather made it perfect. Steve was gracious offering to let me set up my...

We were looking for a room on a fall foliage weekend, perhaps problematic? Steve took care of us. This house was built in 1905. We stayed in a room w/ a queen bed, a TV and a chair. The bathroom is shared across the hall from our room on the first floor. I think there are ten bathrooms in the...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. Sorry you expierenced some heat problems in your room. It's difficult heating such a large building, when a few persons like their windows open in the fall season. During the winter months the thermostat is set higher. Hope to see you again. Steve/Owner

Prescott House has basic rooms (with the bath across the hall) in a quiet residential neighborhood just blocks from the center of town - which are rented via the Sara Placid Motor Lodge out on the highway southeast of town. We had a perfectly fine room with one queen for $89; the proprietor, Steve, was immediately responsive when we called...

We recently stayed at the Prescott House during the 2012 Winter Carnival. I am so pleased to say that we had a fantastic stay. First, we really liked the location. Kinda off the beaten path, yet close enough to walk downtown for live music, dinner, etc... Although this is a historic building with an intriguing history, it was been fully...

“Should contact owners in advance and make reservations. This would also work well for a group outing.”

“This is an excellent place to stay if you're going to be busy doing other things besides staying in a room. I'd recommend finding other accommodations if your interested in staying close to your rental property to relax on a porch or to sit outside watching the fauna and flora. Otherwise, this is a convenient and economical way to experience the Adirondacks.”
