I stayed here at the beginning of a camping trip. The place definitely needs a major face-lift: peeling linoleum and paint, windows that would not stay open, and a really strong smell of Lysol to cover up who-knows-what other odors. On the other hand, it was scrubbed very clean, the owner was super-nice, and the price was low. Most importantly,... More

Amy the friendly owner is a teacher and triathlon competitor and told us of great places to swim. The cottage was clean and perfectly adequate, great value for money near pretty Tupper Lake. She sent us to Horseshoe Lake and Bogs River Falls, lots of fun!

The small, two bed cottage my wife and I stayed in was a retro little place. Although small, as o be expected just from looking at the cabins, we definitely felt like home. With Amy greeting us with her bunches of friendly dogs I had never felt more welcomed at a hotel than I did then. The cottage itself was... More

We read the reviews on Tripadvisor before booking this hotel, and it's important that people realize that what the reviews call "retro" is actually a motel that hasn't been updated since the 1950s. Our cabin had no shelves or any surfaces for our luggage and belongings, including in the bathroom. The tin shower stall didn't reach the wall, so all... More

This little beauty is tucked away on rte 3 coming into Tupper Lake from the west. It is an old 40's or 50's charmer with a retro charm both in the rooms and the couple that run the place. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Rooms have two double beds, wood floors and a step back to a simpler time.... More

Must admit compared to 8 yr's ago the cabins needs some TCL. Amy was a great person to talk to but sheets on bed need to be replace. Housekeeping needs to be thought better of. We asked for clean sheets. Unfortunately just bed remade. Sheets stained badly shower stall floor pretty bad, no WiFi no A/C Rustic Cabins indeed reasonable... More

The best part of Faust is the couple that runs it. I was there for the Tupper Lake Triathlon and the husband tuned up my bike (he's a carpenter and bike mechanic) for free and the wife accommodated my very late arrival. The rate was $55 / night, which was one of the least expensive places in town for that... More

Put in front cabin where there was a bright street light shining thru the thin curtains on the broken curtain rod directly onto our faces. No mini-fridge in room. Mildew in small shower stall (had to laugh when saw the shower manufacturer was 'E L Mustee & Sons'...get it? "El mustee" says it all!) Upon making the bed the next... More

This is the kind of place that was common from 1950 until maybe 1975, a set of cabins. There doesn't seem to have been any serious make-over since then. Our cabin had two small bedrooms and a bath. It was clean and reasonable for the price. The bed was good. The bathroom was very old looking, especially the shower, which... More

The cabins are modest but clean. The friendly owners make a stay here well worth your time ... Amy (and daughter Ruby) tended to my hiking injury and I had a long, sometimes intense but cordial and wonderful conversation with Kevin. Overall, a great stay!
