I have visited Dakhla many times (worked there for an archaeological mission) and absolutely love it. One of my most favourite places on earth. I never stayed at this hotel but often enjoyed a cold drink on the terrace. The view is breathtaking, the staff very friendly and the drinks are great (especially the lemonade). The hotel is beautiful and...

The hotel has an identity and culture. The rooms have beautiful writings on it's walls. The food is mouthwatering, especially with the Egyptian Stella beer sitting in the terrace in the evening. Most importantly the staff are very accommodating and will give you so many tips and show you around Dakhla Oasis.

as we approached i was hoping this was where we were staying as it holds such an impressive stance above the village. made of mud brick it holds a mystique and quiet charm. rooms are large and very clean, excellent bathroom and dining room and breakfast were superb. staff friendly and informative. would stay again in a shot.

We have been three times in this hotel and plan to return again. The Hotel and its garden still looks a bit bare. The plants and flowers grow slowly due to the extreme climate (summer up to 55°C / winter nights down to 5°C in addition to strong summer winds). Desert Lodge’s personnel with local staff are extremely helpful and...

Nice place, peacefull, clean rooms, but food is dangerous (half of the group was sick due to poor food quality) and service is very very slow. Price is really super high for it. Compared to usual egyptian prices, the bill was super high !!

This is one of my favourite hotels in Egypt and i have been many times. If you are visiting the Oases then you must stay in the Desert Lodge Dakhla. The views are magnificent and the chance to wander off behind the hotel and look at amazing geology is a real bonus. A great place for walking and hiking. The...

Review long overdue: I stayed there back in Fall 2008, but Tripadvisor didn't let me choose a date that far back--just a heads up! This is most likely my favorite hotel in Egypt. Food was excellent, fresh and organic; the panoramic views of Dakhla from the hotel are to die for (hotel is up on a hill, quite elevated); the...

An absolutely awesome full organic hotel! Stunning friendly staff; very fresh self-produced organic food; though it's surrounded by sand and dirt on a windy spot all the rooms are very tidy and clean! Even the brickwall-bed feels comfortable, you just have to keep in mind where you are :-) A defenetly must is a visit in the hot pool; 37°C...

“Ask for rooms facing the sunset. In summer, it might be better to take a room downstairs as they cool down more rapidly at night. "Fitness center" above stands the for swimming pool. There is a painting studio for those who like to do some painting.”
