It was interesting to learn that the “T.O.P” of Top Lodge are the initials of the man who fell in love with the area more than 150 years ago, and not because the winding, dirt road (true, real and serious 4X4s only) takes you up, up and up, away from the trammel and clutter of the 21st century. And it...

Toplodge can be highly recommended to get away from it all. Very secluded. You can feel the silence. I was totally on my own there and it was just incredible. Can find yourself. The host Gavin is very friendly and we had some really deep philosophical discussions.

Toplodge is hidden in mountainous bliss, away from the smog, the noise and light pollution that we're way too accustomed to in the city. It was the perfect destination to disappear into after a long, stressful year. Every morning felt like we were waking up to our own private mountain range! The simple, earthy interiors compliment and emphasise the secluded...

Toplodge is an enchanting setting for a getaway, cosy accommodation and food for the soul. There is peace and quiet, scenic views, great walks with amazing surprises and hosts who are eager to help. The most magnificent night sky to gaze at in wonder, the perfect place to recharge, we had hardly left and we were ready to head back.

My wife and I stayed at Toplodge for our honeymoon, when making the booking with Gavin (The owner) I told him that I am looking to blow our minds and Toplodge did just that, from the absolutely amazing views to the complete peace and quiet. The 4x4 road in added to the whole experience as it makes you feel like...

We had a very peaceful relaxing weekend at Toplodge and would recommend it to anyone needing to get away from the daily grind. We parked our vehicle on arrival and didn't get in again until departing. There are some wonderful hikes on the farm but the best was to sit and enjoy the view and the tranquility of the place....

3 nights up at Top Lodge felt like 3 weeks of relaxation. Set within an amphitheater of the surrounding peaks, with a view down into the valley where the sun rises as if prompted by the gods. Lovely walks right from our cottage and ultimate privacy all weekend. Simply lovely

We had a great time at Toplodge in October. Private cottage (because no one else visited over that time it felt as if we had the whole farm to ourselves. The kids enjoyed the huge swing at the dam, we completed 3 out of the 4 trails in one day (they loved it!) and we watched the stars from the...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Top Lodge in October! There are only three units and we were the only guests there. The privacy was wonderful. On our first night there the skies were clear - this gave us the opportunity for amazing star gazing! The next morning my husband, myself and our two kids (aged 7 & 9) explored...

Recently spent a great long weekend at Top Lodge, a fantastic intimate setting in the Northen Drakensberg. Phenomenal views on offer from our intimate unit (one of 3 only) which offered a very comfortable and warm setting for the weekend. A lot of though has been put into the facilities and it was a very cosy weekend in-spite of the...
