This hidden gem should not be missed. It was less luxurious than our other camps but especially memorable. The food was fantastic-thank you Simon for the wonderful celery. leek and pumpkin soups! The showers are on request but hot water arrives promptly and is more than adequate. The thermal springs attract huge numbers of birds-flamingo, yellow-billed stork, white pelican and... More

We were set up right next to the Lake Manyara, the view was spectacular. Flamingos covered the lake, and elephants stomped around right behind our tents. This is camping with hard wood floors. The food is wonderful, and we were even graced with a dance from the staff on our last day, and a song in Swahili.

Lemala is a basic, traditional camping experience. A small camp with excellent, friendly service. The tent was basic but comfortable. The shower was a little tricky with a bit of a slant in the woooden floor. The beds were comfortable. If you want to get away from "glamping" then this is the place for you! Nice view.

The Lemala Manyara is an outstanding tent camp in which to stay. We stayed two days and wished we could have stayed longer. We were met with a damp washcloth and a glass of juice upon arrival. Check-in was done sitting on a couch by John. Isaac then took us to our tent (5), a short walk from the dinning/lounge/reception... More

We were so impressed with our first two nights in Tanzania staying at Lemala Manyara. We had no great expectations from previous reviews etc. of the area but nothing further could be the case! We had the whole camp to ourselves which made for a rather surreal "Out of Africa" experience but the staff could not have been more attentive... More

My wife and I stopped at Lemala Manyara tented camp for two nights on our way to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti/Ndutu. Evidently, many people make a brief stop in Manyara on their way to Ngorongoro—but many just detour to a large plain area that's thick with game animals, and then they move on. This particular camp is fairly deep... More

What a lovely detailed review you did and thank you so much for the time it took to do it. Lemala Manyara is a gem and as you rightly said many guests drive through and never overnight so they do miss the wonderful evenings, the night drives and the walks that can be conducted in the mornings. Weather permitting, sundowners... More

My wife and I had a great bush experience. Our room was located to the far end and we were able to see the lake shore to the horizon. Great stuff and our butler was very attentive and always ready to assist.

The lodge is very well placed inside the Manara part. In October we enjoyed the services of a perfectly well functioning team that made us feel at home. the lodge is well placed as a stopover coming from Arusha going to Ngorongoro. We definately recommend this lodge.

thank you for your lovely review. Manyara is a lovely park and an ideal stop over between Arusha and Ngorongoro or even Tarangire and Ngorongoro and being inside the park allows the perfect opportunity to enjoy lake side sundowners, walks and night drives that not many of the other parks offer.
