This is a word that is greatly overused. But is this case it is truly deserved. From the very start we were blown away by this hotel. We walked from the ferry terminal to get to the hotel, unfortunately google maps has it in the rewiring place (hint, search for "Asmini Plance" and you'll get there). Anyway, a quick phone... More

Nice Hotel right in the middle of Stone Town. Walking distance from the ferry port and most of the other locations in stone town. Rooms were big, nice and clean. Hotel staff were very welcoming specially the day manager/receptionist.

I stayed at the Asmini for four nights in a double king bed room. The first night I woke with a few bites on my arm and wrist which I assumed were a mosquito bite. The next night I had a ton of small red marks on my feet, again I thought it was from maybe walking in the sand.... More

Very central for walking around the town and comfortable enough for one night stay. Very old style and in need of update but staff were friendly. Room had ensuite shower and toilet and a ceiling fan. Breakfast was on the roof top and pleasant - selection of fruit, eggs, bread and drinks. Reminded me of the design of the Marrakesh... More

I stayed at the Asmini for one night after three previous nights at The Coffee House (which was a gem). The Asmini faded by comparison . It is an interesting building in Arab courtyard style, but, while clean, does not have any stand out features. Wi-fi was poor and only available in the mosquito ridden atrium on the ground floor....
