Zenji Hotel gets you the perfect start at Zanzibar. What this hotel characterizes is that little certain something. May it be the lovley, friendly and helpful staff, the little piece of soap and the flowers on your bed as well as the welcome drink upon arrival or just the roof terrace. The breakfast buffet is just great. It's not the...

I stayed at Zenji with my father for two nights in early October 2010 and it was the best place we stayed in during our trip to Uganda and Tanzania. The rooms were spotless and decorated in a very nice style and the staff were unfailingly helpful; they arranged a tour to Prison Island and also collected our ferry tickets...

We stayed in this hotel for 1 night before heading to the beaches on the East Coast. It was our first time in Stonetown. This hotel is really close to the port and you can get to it on foot from the ferry in less than 10 minutes. The staff at the Zenji Hotel were so helpful and friendly, especially...

Spent only a night in Zenji Hotel in September. We were given the Room of Wonder. It was a lovely room and had a balcony that overlooked the street. Our stay was during Ramadan and the streets were deserted during the day. However, at night, Stone Town was buzzing and our balcony gave us a great view of this spectacle....

My family and I (ages 53,50,23,19 and 15) spent a week in Zanzibar: a couple of days in Stone Town at the Zenji and the rest on the beach at Jambiani on the East coast (see Casa Del Mar Hotel review). The Zenji is not very impressive on the outside but inside the rooms are lovely with a real Zanzibari...

This is a modest backpacker style place although the rooms are reasonably spacious and many with bathroom. The eating area on the top is really great. Service fantastic too. The owner went out of her way to assist us with recommendations for other places, and we spent a packet in their shop. All round good value, good vibe, nice place....

Stayed for 3 nights while exploring Stone Town. Conviniently located on the outskirts of Stone Town with different themed rooms. Good value breakfast on the roof terrace of eggs, fruit and cake. Felt safety as the reception staff (very friendly) were there 24-hours and lock the main door after 10pm and open it on your request. A very good, budget...

My friend and I recently spent a few nights with the phenomenal hotel Zenji staff in their charming Stone Town B&B. We two California girls would highly recommend it to others based on our experience! - For the area, it is a great value. Clean, simple rooms with Swahili beds (we stayed in two different rooms and loved both). Includes...

I liked this hotel. Small and nice. I liked that the hotel was little bit from old Stone Town. Excellent service, everyone was so helpfull.
